2024 REVIEW: Came back to this wonderful tavern 4 years later and we weren't disappointed. Octopus in Vinegar is still good. Beetroot Salad with Yogurt is also good. Dakos Cretan Salad - also good. 60 EUR with tip for a plentiful dinner for two. Carefully follow the directions to the restaurant and don't go through Plaka as some streets are not passable.

2020 REVIEW: Great local tavern in the small village of Plaka! We went on a very hot afternoon in July, it was closed, but the owner opened just for us! We had Boiled octopus in vinegar, Grilled octopus, Greek salad and Tzatziki. Every dish was delicious, and we got great service from the staff (you know the place is great when the staff don't speak English). The homemade tsipouro was also great. The waiter gave us a free round of drinks and fruits for dessert. Go in the evening and sit on the terrace - great sea view. Would...

The food was average - there is no point going there specifically because of the food. The view is nice, but if you go there for dinner it doesn't matter. They didn't have many of the menu items we tried to order. The worst part was that for some time there was just one person serving the whole place. As one may expect, we waited and waited until some of us finally got dinner. Others had to wait even longer because it turned out some more dishes were finished. Our youngest 9 years old group member didn't get his dinner at all because the order got messed up.

The waitress actually made an effort, and was very polite, but in this situation it is hard to provide a good service.

Maybe in other circumstances we would have liked the place better. Maybe...

Οκ. Ήρθαμε στο μέρος μετά από τα τόσο καλά reviews που διαβάσαμε. Είχαμε κάνει κράτηση ( δεν χρειαζόταν για την ώρα που πήγαμε -18:30). Φτάνουμε με 20 λεπτά καθυστέρηση επειδή χάσαμε το δρόμο. Πρώτη εικόνα: το μαγαζί άδειο - μόνο 2 ζευγάρια τρώνε και κάπου 4-5 τραπέζια αμάζευτα με τα αποφάγια. Χμμμμ..όχι καλη πρώτη εντύπωση. Τους λέω ότι έχουμε κράτηση για τις 18:30 και με κοιτάνε οι δυο σερβιτόροι σαν να έχω κατέβει από τον Άρη και δε μιλάνε. Τους το ξαναλέω ( λέω δεν θα άκουσαν) το ίδιο. Αρχίζουν να μαζεύουν σιωπηλά το ένα τραπέζι. Τους λέμε αν μπορούμε να κάτσουμε σε ένα συγκεκριμένο τραπέζι που είναι στρωμένο απλά χρειάζεται επέκταση. Πάλι καμία απάντηση. ΤΠ με τα πολλά μαζεύουν τα αποφάγια και μας φτιάχνουν και το τραπέζι. Αυτά κατά τις 7:10. Παραγγέλνουμε άμεσα και φέρνουν ποτά και ψωμι αμέσως. Όλα οκ. Και εκεί τους χάσαμε. Άρχισαν να φέρνουν ότι είχαν. Ορεκτικά -σαλάτες - πιάτα ανάμεικτα. Γενικά αυτά ήταν καλά και νόστιμα Το αποτέλεσμα ομως ήταν ότι τα τελευταία πιάτα - γαριδομακαρονάδα που θέλει 20 λεπτά μαγείρεμα ήρθε στις 20:37!!!! 1:40 λεπτά μετά την παραγγελία. Και φυσικά τα πιάτα των υπολοίπων που περιμέναμε για να φάμε όλοι μαζί είχαν γίνει λάστιχο. Όλα τα πιάτα με γαριδες που δοκιμάσαμε ήταν πολύ κάτω από το μέτριο Οι σερβιτόροι αμίλητοι και όταν πάλι τους είπαμε ότι ένα πιάτο που θέλει 20 λεπτά το φέρατε σε 1:40 ούτε καν απάντησαν απλα έφυγαν. Πραγματικά δεν έχω ξαναδεί κάτι τέτοιο. Κριμα γιατί η θέα ήταν...
