It’s unfortunate that a place with such reputation and quality of the food, can’t control the situation with the flies. We were in our second visit in the restaurant and I couldn’t finish my lunch because of “battling/fighting” with this awful pest.
The second waiter who assisted us, which was helpful and servicial, gave us a weird explanation about it: it’s the season, there’s nothing that we can do”…
Excuse me but there are more than 1000 ways to control pests, starting with closing all the 6 huge doors/windows that you guys have, and keeping only one access to the public with some purple light where the fly will be attracted to, keeping the tables clean faster you also avoid the attraction of them to the food. Honestly the second visit was not like the first time (one day difference).
On another note, it may be or not full responsibility of the restaurant and it may be the city, but you can’t make your clients feel so left behind because of this.
Flies are a huge RED FLAG for higiene situation in the place (we’ve been in other restaurants in loutraki and we didn’t encounter this)
I had to take my food as take away because I couldn’t enjoy my stay.
Let’s hope that next season you guys will learn about this and take advantage of constructive feedback.
PS: a good idea would be also to have an area of non smoking people at the terrace demarcated with some Perspex glass so clients can also enjoy it without the cloud of...
Read moreA complete disappointment — avoid if you’re expecting anything Italian.
Came here with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary, hoping for a nice evening, good food, and decent service. What we got instead was a disaster.
The same waiter came to our table three times, each time forgetting who ordered what. He simply dropped everything in the middle of the table with a “figure it out yourselves”. That’s not service — that’s chaos.
We wanted to start with some Prosecco — a basic ask for an Italian restaurant, right? Apparently not — they didn’t have any. So we asked: “Do you have Aperol?” — “Yes.” “What do you make it with, if you don’t have Prosecco?” — “With wine.” Excuse me? Aperol with white wine?! That’s not creative — that’s just wrong. We didn’t even bother ordering it after that.
Then came the food: • Risotto with mushrooms and truffle — except there was no truffle to be found. • Shrimp risotto — served with unpeeled shrimp, buried in hot rice. No tools, no care — just peel it yourself with your fingers if you’re desperate enough to eat.
Overall: completely underwhelming and careless. If you’re going to call yourself an Italian restaurant — at least try not to insult...
Read moreWell, I think there is a lot of truth in saying "In Greece you should only eat greek food" After 4 days of eating traditional greek food, we decided to go to italian restaurant and try different cuisne. We found on google maps Pepe Rosso with very good rating. For starters we ordered mozzarella sticks. The truth is that mozzarella sticks is not italian food. You wont find it in genuine italian restaurant but we assumed that it's for tourists and it does not say necessarly that this restaurant is bad and just pretend to be italian. Now, the thing that alarmed us was the sweet-sour dip served along with the sticks. SWEET-SOUR DIP in "italian" restaurant! The kind of a dip you get when order spring rolls in chinese restaurant! After this food failure we got 2 pizzas - Caprese and Pepperoni. Pizza had nothing in common with genuine, italian pizza. It was served on thick crust (kind of pizza hut) with tons of greasy cheese on top of it. You can imagine how bad it was. So guys, stay away from this place. Go to some good traditional greek restaurant instead, because in Greece rules Zues not Jupiter (especially, fake...
