I have been opting for Maistrali 5 years now.. Unfortunately, last weekend while visting once again, me and my boyfriend sat at a table at the front. The restaurant was half full and there were plenty of empty tables. We went there after our swim. We ordered 4 starters and a beer, because the weather was too hot (we are getting our beers one at a time so as for them not to get warm). We ordered alright. A few minutes later the waiter informed us that we could not stay at the table at the front because we had ordered just 4 dishes. I repeat the restaurant was half empty. We apparently didn’t order enough dishes to seat at the front. 4 dishes and a beer for starters after our swim was not enough for two people. We were very disappointed and will definitely never go again. They moved us to a table at the back and were really weird afterwards. Such a pity AND...

I really wanted to like this place — the food is actually solid. I’d give it a 4/5 without hesitation. Everything we ordered was well-cooked and flavorful, and the presentation wasn’t bad either. Definitely not the issue.

The real problem is the service. If you’re not ordering a ton of food (or maybe not drinking heavily?), you basically become invisible. We felt like an afterthought the entire time — long waits, minimal attention, and a general vibe that we weren’t “worth” the server’s time. It’s frustrating when your experience hinges on how much money you’re spending instead of just being treated like a guest.

Location is decent — 4/5 for sure. Easy to get to and in a nice enough area. But honestly, I wouldn’t go back unless I was in a group planning to drop serious cash. It’s a shame, because the kitchen clearly knows...

Food was good, BUT service is really slow although taverna wasn't full and waiters I would say were bored. But the worst thing is that squid we ordered in the menu costed 8 euro per portion but they charged us 18 euro saying that there is a price per kilo but it's not mentioned in the menu. Wasn't nice at all because definitely they know what they have written in the menu, the reason why we didn't pay 18 euro in the end. Looks like mockery for me. Be attentive...
