Kavouropetra has been for the last 5 years out favourite restaurant in Aegina. Last night, once more, the experience exceeded expectations. The ambiance is always beyond words; the sunset, the calmness of the sea, the tiny boat shelter….. Service makes us feel we are home with friends who are looking after us the best possible way. Vasilis and Mateo (our friendly waiters) along Eleni and Panagiotis (our great host and chef, respectively) were there to offer us one more exquisite dinner. Taramasalata is a must; velvety and balanced. Armyra; brings a combination of sea and land in a plate that is magnificent in its simplicity. This time, Panagiotis overdid himself with an amazing Shrimp Carpaccio that shouts freshness, inspiration and boldness. It will definitely be a choice every time it will be available in the menu. We had preordered Lobster with Pasta and again we enjoyed a perfectly cooked dish. The lobster was succulent, the pasta was almost “addictive”. We enjoyed a bottle of rose and concluded with masticha shots. Guys, thank you. You made a special night and a special dinner,...
Read moreCame here following a recommendation, but ended up rather disappointed. As many restaurants in Greece do, they would bring you bread to the table even if you didn’t ask for it (and they will charge you for it). It wouldn’t be a big problem, if the bread was edible, but instead it was like a rock and we didn’t eat any of it. We ordered grilled cheese, supposedly with "apple marmelade", but what we got on the side tasted like ketchup and I am quite sure it didn’t have anything to do with apples. Grilled squid was tasty, but fried shrimps were absolutely tasteless. We got dessert (complimentary, if I am not mistaken) - orange pie, which sounds exotic, however, it tasted like a cough syrup (I guess it was full of artificial flavour). Also, we made a reservation for 8pm (rather early for a dinner in Greece) and were given a table with a view of the parking lot. When asked if we could change the table, we were told all of the tables were booked. We left around 21.15, with many of the tables with the sea view still free....
Read moreI recently dined at Kavouropetra and had an excellent experience overall. The food was truly exceptional, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The menu offers a great variety of seafood dishes that showcase both classic and creative flavors.
The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. The ambiance was enhanced by a well-thought-out décor that adds to the coastal dining experience.
One of the highlights was the service. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Despite arriving 20 minutes before the kitchen was set to close, they welcomed us warmly and ensured that we were well taken care of. It’s rare to find such hospitable service, especially at the end of the night.
The only minor downside was the pricing, which is a bit on the higher side. However, considering the quality of the food and the overall experience, it was well worth it. I would definitely return and recommend it to others looking for a top-notch...
