AETOS — Restaurant in Municipality of Agios Nikolaos

GREAT from the start till finish. Very welcoming family tavern, genuine Greek attitude and politeness of I presume mom and dad and their son. The tavern is away from the sea, but go there, you won't miss the sea view. We also found the place unintentionaly on Google Maps, but don't regret at all. The food is fabulously made, delicious taste, best tzatziki for my opinion, pitas was uncomperable with other "famous" taverns. I believe they make it there, not buying in Lidl. My daughter first asked for fish sticks, but they didn't have them. That's how it is if you have fresh food. So we ordered for her chicken nuggets. BEST nuggets ever - crunchy, soft inside, juicy, PERFECT. I ate fish (I ate fish in a lot of fish restaurants, but this was one of the best grilled fishes I ever ate). We felt like we are in their living room, they were calm and nicely talking to each other. We were eating faboulous food for a great price. Amazing restaurant or should I say tavern !!!

Little fun fact for tourists: Aetos in greek means Eagle 😉

It's places like these that I think of "5-star places" ! Such a good food , polite staff, and affordable prices !!!

The menu design was "to the point" and a lot of effort was clearly put there which I really liked !!!

We have been costumers to this place for a really long time and it was amazing to see the owner's children not only continue the father's legacy, but surpass it and make it better !!!

I truly hope this place continues to exist it's a bit of a shame that not many people know about it and there aren't many tourists lurking around !!!

A late review from June 2023 - but we just had to write one after exceptionally good service & experience here. The restaurant was exactly what we were looking for in the Stalos/Sisi area, because based on our experience, there are less authentic Cretan restaurants in this area than in the West of Crete. In any case, we just struggled to find ones at least. Well, this one is that to the teeth.

The restaurant is run by a family, the food is both authentic and tasty, and priced very reasonably. We had a mix of different portions and all tasted great! Service: exceptionally welcoming and friendly! Thank you a lot and we will definitely come back once in the area again!
