Tavern Ifigeneia — Restaurant in Municipality of Agios Vasileios

I stumbled upon this charming taverna during my stay in Crete, and it turned out to be one of the culinary highlights of my trip. The food was absolutely outstanding — every dish bursting with fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and that unmistakable homemade touch.

From the perfectly grilled souvlaki to the creamy tzatziki and crispy fried zucchini, everything tasted like it came straight from a Greek grandmother’s kitchen. The seafood was fresh and expertly prepared, and the local wine paired beautifully with the meal.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who made us feel like part of the family. Sitting under the stars with the sound of waves nearby made the whole experience unforgettable.

We ate here today and it was in one word, magical! In between the mountains, in a quiet little town, there is Taverna Ifigeneia.
