Sensational!!!

My brother and myself where staying in the area as we explored South Crete.

We had dinner at Agamemnon every night, doing our best to sample as much of the menu as possible.

The food is fresh, local sourced and perfectly cooked.

If you are new to Greek (Cretan) Cuisine, they have all the safe bets, souvlaki, moussaka, stuffed vine leaves etc.

They also have more traditional and authentic meals, strongly recommend the goat or rabbit, although do understand this might be a new experience for some.

The staff (rather, family that cook and welcome you) are all warm, generous and helpful even with suggestions and information around Crete itself.

Prices are fantastic, especially for the quality.

Most produce is source from the area through a mixture of local farmers or even foraged (when in season).

If you are traveling through the area and need a light meal or want a full dinner and delicious wine... Make sure to visit!!

So grateful to have found this lovely place on my way home from an amazing day at Apolystra.

It’s in a beautiful natural setting with countryside mountain vista. I felt so lucky to be there in this authentic family taverna. The owner Agamemnon and his son Chronos were so kind and welcoming. Not only did I enjoy a delicious meal of goat, potatoes and wine….but also had wonderful conversation about the history and beauty of Crete.

They gave me delicious local sheep yogurt with wild cherry sauce his mom made for dessert :)

I wish you’re family all the best and I recommend this place for a peaceful meal in the hills.

All Crete at one place! Hidden just few km from main road, you will find a really Cretan taverna. Service is so great, as well as a view from terrace, food is so delicious, portions are big and tasty. We ordered tzatziki, cheese pie, octopus and goat in tomato sauce, everything was outstanding, also wine of house is really good! All recommendations for this place, must have lunch/dinner.
