Kolokithas Family Taverna Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Aktio and Vonitsa

Simple and absolutely amazing meat. I been here twice and I had kontosouvli pork, kontosouvli lamb and sausage. Although lamb is their speciality I liked the pork better. Lamb was excellent, but pork was best I ever had. Sausage was good, quality meat, you like the style or you don't. No garnish,no decoration. Perfectly grilled meat and even french fries excellent. Pleasant rustic ambience, warm and friendly service (sons are much better than nephew ;). I am giving 5* to taste of food and to host. Somebody expects more for 15-20 per person? I will...

In short: 1. They don't honor reservations even though they confirmed it over the phone. 2. They don't give you a receipt! In short. The first night there were 15 of us, we ate OK, not very good but not very expensive either. I understood that because we didn't reserve, we didn't get Kokoretsi. The second night we reserved by phone, we specified that we wanted kokoretsi and they confirmed that they had them, we came 30 km to find out that we could only get one portion. We think it's disrespectful so we left dissatisfied without the staff...

It's a country taverna, where you can actually smell the countryside.

The food is authentic Greek lots of meat from local animals.

A bit of a meat feast but excellent quality and delicious The dips were as I'd expect them to be in Greek and not touristic loaded with garlic and tasty.

It's about 13k from Lefkada, but worth the trip if you want an authentic village Greek experience although it's not small there are loads of tables which is testament to the quality...
