Almira Fish and Meat Tavern — Restaurant in Municipality of Alexandroupoli

It's hard to find words to describe this restaurant, especially when it was the best place we had dinner in a long while, but i will try.

The view is amazing, it's almost at the end of the beach , with a long patch of thick green grass between them. Some tables are placed on this grass and I totally recommend them.

The food was exceptional. The menu is on the small size (which most of the time is a good sign) and the selection of fresh fish complements it quite well, so do not be fooled as the latter does not appear on the menu (catch of the day varies). My personal favorites were the dumplings, the sardines, the grilled octopus, the boyourdi and the fresh fish (which will be prepared according to your preference, but the cook will make suggestions based on the type of fish).

Every day we wanted to make pictures to go with this review but every day we failed as we started eating as soon as the dishes came and totally forgot about the phones. Higher rated restaurants in the area did not provide the same quality, quantity and price as Almira and we ended up visiting this place daily in the second part of our stay here.

The staff was very friendly, helpful and always with a smile on their face. Dessert was not on the menu but we received one every day.

Their fish and wine was so good that a non-fish eater took fish every day and non-white wine drinker did not bother to ask for something different. I can't recommend these guys enough. We are actually planning for our next trip to Greece to be in the same area so we can...

This tavern is not really a tavern. It's a fully fledged restaurant that must be visited. The location is wonderful, just on the beach, allowing you to have a beautiful beach view.

But the food, man, the food! It was so good. You have to at least try this restaurant, you will fall in love with it.

Also, the prices are very good in my opinion - a full meal for 4 people with tons of dishes oredered varies from 50 to 60 euros. And we couldn't even finish the food!

The tavern has the perfect location with the view towards the sea, offering a great atmosphere. The staff are friendly, speaking a bit of English, Turkish, Bulgarian.
