Nestled by the shimmering waters of the Mediterranean, Faros Tavern offers not only a meal but a true coastal escape. The location is idyllic, right by the water, with the sea inviting you in for a swim before or after your meal – a true delight for anyone looking to combine good food with nature's beauty.
The staff is exceptionally warm and welcoming, adding to the charm of the restaurant. While English may not be the primary language here, communication flows easily, and the hospitality speaks louder than words. Their eagerness to make guests feel at home truly elevates the experience.
For starters, I indulged in the classic Greek salad, a timeless dish that never disappoints in this part of the world. The freshness of the ingredients is unmatched, and the feta here is unlike any I've tasted elsewhere – rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. I also had the fried eggplant, which was simple yet perfectly done, crispy on the outside and soft within – the kind of straightforward dish that is hard to resist when done right.
For the main course, I must admit I had a small misunderstanding. Seeing the word "burger" on the menu, I eagerly expected a classic hamburger, only to find it was more of a Greek-style minced meat patty, seasoned with spices – somewhat similar to kefta. Given that I'm not a big fan of this style of dish, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. However, I recognize that this is simply a matter of personal taste, and I'm sure many would find it delightful. The restaurant is clearly more focused on seafood, which might explain why this dish wasn't exactly what I had in mind.
To wrap up the meal, the owners kindly insisted on offering us dessert, even though we initially declined. This gesture of hospitality is what truly sets Faros Tavern apart. The warmth and generosity of the people behind the restaurant make it a place you'd want to return to, even beyond the food.
In conclusion, Faros Tavern excels at providing a welcoming atmosphere, with fresh and authentic Greek flavors. If you're a seafood lover or a fan of traditional Greek cuisine, this spot is bound to impress. And while my main dish wasn’t exactly what I had hoped for, the overall experience – from the stunning location to the kind-hearted staff – makes it a restaurant well...

I had the pleasure of dining at Faros Tavern recently, and it was an experience I'll never forget. The setting is breathtaking—imagine enjoying a magnificent sunset while watching the subtle waves literally next to you. It's the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable meal. Our group ordered shrimp, koutsomoura, kalamari, gavros, and mussels. The seafood fare is local and fresh out of the water. The shrimp and gavros, in particular, are the tastiest I've ever eaten, bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. Every dish we tried was a symphony of flavors, beautifully combining the aroma of the sea and land. For our vegetarian dishes, we had horiatiki salad, fried eggplants, and zucchini with skordalia. The flavors were explosive and exceeded everyone's expectations. The locally produced dry white wine was a perfect complement to our seafood feast. The menu is very reasonably priced and offers a great selection of meat, seafood, and vegetarian dishes, along with an excellent variety of wines and spirits. The staff at Faros Tavern are friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. The owner personally greeted us and thanked us for our business, which added a lovely personal touch to the evening. To top off our meal, we were treated to a complimentary platter of watermelon by the patron. It was a refreshing and delightful end to a perfect evening. You can't say you experienced Greece if you fail to have a dining experience at Faros Tavern! If you're in the area, I highly recommend Faros Tavern for its exceptional food, great prices, stunning views, and warm hospitality. My family and I will most certainly be back. I truly believe once you have that magical dining experience,...

We found this place from Google reviews - sort of an inception isn't it?
On our way to Zagori in northern Greece we were looking for a place to stay. November isn't the typical month when you crave seafood, so I was a little sceptical when my partner suggested Faros. I was so wrong.
In Faros we had some of the best seafood ever! The area is famous for shrimp and cheese (pecorino and gruyere). The shrimp was so good we ordered it again. Really - the shrimp is so good that I ll struggle to enjoy another shrimp again.
The fried fish (Koutsomoures - sort of like red mullet) was so tasty that I can't understand what sort of sorcery goes into making it. My wife's origins are from an island and the fried fish there is nowhere near as good.
If the above doesn't impress you, then the view will end up being a mental picture registered forever in your brain. A place right by the sea. Families playing with their children on the pebbles, sunshine, sea, food. An oasis in the middle of nowhere.
The service in Faros cannot be improved. The very polite owner, together with the staff that gave us drinks, dessert and coffee for free just adds up to the...
