Αποσπερίδα/Aposperida — Restaurant in Municipality of Apokoronas

Whether you're staying in Pemonia or a neighbouring location, this place is a MUST! Run by a lovely Greek family, all of their produce is local and homemade - whether that's the bread, raki or lamb that is raised and bought from nearby farms.

All I can say is that the food here is stunning and is outstanding value for what you get - amazing selection of starters and mains, but be warned, the starters are quite large portions so sharing 2 between 4 is ample for an appetiser.

We were only staying in Pemonia for 6 days but made a point of coming here twice - it was THAT good! In terms of price, we had 3 starters between 4 of us, 4 main courses and 3 bottles of the most delicious greek wine, and the whole bill came to only $80!!

The only day this place isn't open is on a Tuesday, otherwise it's open every day of the week and does get quite popular. We didn't have to make a reservation but if there's a larger party, I would recommend booking in advance to make sure they can accommodate you - although I'm sure they would absolutely make it work if you just turned up on spec.

Today was my third visit to Αποσπεριδα and I haven’t yet been disappointed! If you would like traditional Cretan food or something completely different to all the other tavernas then this is the place to go. You will always be welcomed with friendly hospitality and perfectly cooked food. The prices are very reasonable as it isn’t a tourist trap and at all times the premises is pristine!!! A wonderful family run restaurant that makes quality homemade food. The portion sizes are perfect. We had the beetroot salad which was a nice change from other salads, stuffed vine leaves that came with tzatziki and chicken thigh with a mustard sauce and we asked for rice instead of fries.
