It looks like a beautiful traditional tavern on the corner of a road intersection. We wanted to have lunch yesterday around 2 pm. We sat at a table in the shade in front of the entrance, when the woman serving said that we had to sit either across the street or on the side of the tavern, where there was no shade! Otherwise, the tavern was completely empty except for two locals who were having drinks also in front of the entrance, next to the table where we wanted to sit?! All of the tavernas in Gavalohori are lovely, but this is the best one. We had dinner here 4 times during our stay in Crete. The food was amazing, wonderful atmosphere, and the owners were so nice and hospitable. My favorite dishes were the souvlaki, dakos, Greek salad, meatballs, and orange cake, but everything was fantastic.
