We had already heard that it was better to drink coffee here and not have dinner, but stubborn as we were we decided to take the gamble. The location was okay, but not one of the prettiest either. On arrival we thought we were dealing with a child-friendly restaurant, but the following has never happened to us before: the cooks cannot deviate from the dishes on the menu and so, despite the child-friendly space near the toilets, nothing can be done without salt or ingredients that you normally don't give to a baby. Apart from that, the meal for the adults was one of the worst in Crete: dehydrated pork - an average piece of chicken breast is less dry - but this pork was even served as "pork tenderloin". The worst meal in all of Crete. Everywhere you eat okay or tasty, but in this pretentious restaurant tastes nothing at all. The starters are totally without any idea, passion or imagination....and the plates are thrown on the table without looking to any of the customers. And this without exaggeration, the manners of one waitress in particular are downright antisocial - the sympathetic owner was willing to explain and seemed nice until payment was due. If a restaurant has a very small menu and tries to be a top-class restaurant, let us dispel this vision: a Michelin star will never come. And to think that there are guys like us who drive especially to get this disgusting service and food! Zero stars: and every other review here lies or is related to the owner. at the end of the meal it was already indicated that we should have indicated earlier that the food does not taste. a normal restaurant, however, asks if everything had tasted, but we were asked if the plates could be taken and nothing else. before a complaint could be made, the staff had already left. And in the end we had to pay full price while telling them the food was terrible. hire a chef who can cook and staff who consider the customer king and you can go far, but this will never be the...
Read moreWe went there to have lunch as it was stated that they opened since 11:00 a.m so we went at about 12:45 . They claimed that the kitchen was opening after 13:00 and then 13:00 was 13:15 and we never got a clue on when eventually this kitchen was going to open . So when we tried to order they did not even want to take the order as they waited for the kitchen which was really annoying . You guys should state that your kitchen opens at a definite time not leave your guests hanging . Your service is for sure very bad . We left eventually as the man rudely told us that also other guests are waiting to order and they can’t so we went at another nearby restaurant which was excellent and the service, food and staff was...
Read moreWe came for the lovely setting and were in for a pleasant surprise: locally sourced, traditional ingredients prepared in inspired, creative ways – fantastic! You get a glimpse of what’s possible when a gifted chef builds on local traditions. What a refreshing change from the same-old offerings of all the other places in the vicinity. There's also a good selection of regional wines and a knowledgeable owner.
As for some other reviews: if you prefer quantity over sophistication, or, like one reviewer, want to commit culinary atrocities by eating your lamb completely well-done, this is not the place for you. There are plenty of other spots to dig into piles of meat. Anyone else will be...
