An inexpensive meal right by the jetty & small port, a great spot to have a meal, a cold drink and to simply people watch. The potatoes were cooked just right, with their jackets on, but crisp and full of flavour with a light covering of salt. The rose wine was served in a chilled glass as was the small Mythos lager, keeping the contents cooler for a little longer. The service was very good, but this is something that you expect from Greek hospitality, and Almyra is no different. The food is served with a smile and the question "how was your meal?" always seems to be asked with genuine curiosity rather than being a legal requirement as it is back home in England. To sit, to relax, to enjoy the location and the reasonably priced food was so great. 5 years ago we arrived on the island in early season, before this restaurant had opened, so we missed out then, but not this time. The only problem is that with so many fine and reasonably priced eateries and restaurants it's too hard to chose which one, and to return often seems like missing out on something enjoyable and special elsewhere. Too little time, too many great choices 👌.

In my opinion, this is one of the best spots to enjoy fresh fish on the island of Astypalaia! The menu combines modern creativity with authentic flavors, offering delicious options such as the tuna burger and a wide variety of freshly caught fish. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always smiling—I really loved the positive vibe she created! The restaurant is set in a charming corner near the port, adding to the overall experience. Tip: Make sure to book in advance, as it’s very popular and waiting times can be long.

Almyra is an absolute delight! We had the best Greek salad – a very basic option compared to their delectable menu, but it was incredibly memorable. The taste was superior, and the ingredients were so fresh. The restaurant also offers nice views, enhancing the overall experience. We also enjoyed their grilled octopus with olive oil and lemon, as well as the sea urchin aglio olio. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. Highly recommend Almyra for anyone visiting Astypalaia!

We went to Almyra with high expectations, as everyone spoke of it as the best food on the island. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up with our reservation, which had somehow mysteriously vanished. As a result, we had to push our plans back by an hour until a table became available — but it is ok, these things happen.

The setting and ambiance are very nice - try to be there around sunset! The service — both at the table and at the fish counter — felt somewhat condescending and only borderline courteous.

As for the food, it was, in general, unremarkable — nothing bad, but nothing to truly impress either — with the sole standout being the tarama, which was delicious. The much-advertised “highlight” of the menu, the tuna burger, was an interesting concept, but the execution fell flat. The flavor was so intense that we felt it would have worked better as mini-burgers rather than as a large main course. The tuna steak, on the other hand, was quite...

Almyra is the place to NOT TO MISS in Analipsi village! ALL locals RECOMMEND this charming cute AMAZING fish restaurant!

The chef is a passionate young man with so much joy explaining and showing what is local and how diverse and rich their sea is on providing a “small” 250kg of tune.

I had the BEST fish carpaccio in the island! I have visited 7 other restaurants and tried 3 other fish carpaccios and this was by far the BEST ONE!! A magnificent tuna carpaccio followed by a local fish that was divinely cooked. Locals pickles were kindly offered by the house.

Incredible place by the road with the beach and tiny harbour as view.

It’s filled with locals who enjoy the best quality fish served in a honest quality way! You can NOT miss visiting this place and enjoy their fish!

I visited this place 1st week of June...
