TAVERNA 97 spyros — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

Spiros Taverna 97 was recommended by locals as a restaurant with great, authentic Greek food and and a place where they, themselves, might eat with friends. And this restaurant did not disappoint. The atmosphere, which included inside and outside balcony seating, was so warm and inviting. The staff were friendly and welcomed you like family (no surprise - Greek people are generally friendly). Thank you so much to Nikos and Maria for hosting some of our best memories and also making my Birthday so special. You both, and your restaurant, are an asset to your community and we have not stopped talking about how great our experience was. The balcony seating offered great views of sunset and the country side. It is also covered with beautiful grape vines, which offer some protection from the sun. The menu offerings can change from day to day, allowing for only the freshest produce and small batches of seriously tasty Greek food and fresh fish. I would highly recommend the Pastitsio (which I was introduced to at this restaurant) and the Moussaka. Lastly, thank you for the lovely stories and friendship! The olive tapenade and the oven baked feta cheese was good. We were not satisfied by our main dishes. The bream fish was ok but the mashed patato and veggies were not fresh. Before we ordered the lamb we had a question if it was bony, we had a bad experience before.we were not advised to not choose this dish but eventually it was very bony. The meat was a bit dry. It was told that there would be a sauce over the lamb. We couldn't find one.

We saw some good review and nice pictures from previous customers. We did not have a similar experience which makes us feel a bit sad.

I feel sorry to make such a review. I am sure you guys can do much better. Due to the pandemic there are not that many tourists. Maybe you can reduce your menu, and be clear to your customers what the options are. In this way you can focus on a smaller menu and give a higher...

The food was normal and not tasty! The spaghetti was dry same as the veal. The spicy fetta cheese was not spicy but not bad. We sat outdoors under the leaves, but there were a lot of dry leaves falling on the table and tiny insects so we asked to change the table and be on the top terrace. The waiter changed our table inside and asked us to wait for 2 minutes, however, we waited until we finished the food. The excuse was that there was no space and all was reserved. But we saw and heard 3 families at least saying they didn't have a reservation and sat on top!! The receipt came with other extra things we did not order!
