Rani Indian Cauisine — Restaurant in Municipality of Chalandri

The food was nice and the price was beyond fair for the quantity. I am only giving Rani a 3 star rating instead of something higher because of this incident: We ordered from e-food Indian souvlaki and made sure not to select onions (there was an option to choose ingredients). Both souvlakis had onions. I called the shop and the person that I spoke to did not speak Greek at all. I tried to explain the issue and he would say ("δεν καταλαβαίνει" " doesn't understand" and asked me to call e-food thinking this was a delivery issue, even though the issue was with the food. I asked to speak with someone who spoke Greek but I still didn't manage to. In the end I had to open the souvlaki to get every onion out myself. I spend a lot of time searching for a shop that offered the option to select ingredients because I did not want this to happen. For me this was an inconvenience that wouldn't really stop me from perhaps ordering again although I don't think the option should have been offered at all to select ingredients if it is not going to be respected. But someone could have had serious allergies and I really think that after such a mistake the shop should have offered to replace the meal and of course there should have been someone who spoke the language to handle such calls. I was very hesitant to order having no previous experience with this restaurant. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The owner is extremely friendly and very professional, speaking both Greek and English fluently. I ordered chicken korma which was delicious and the sweet rice which was very good but very different, a taste I am not accustomed to for rice. The delivery was extremely fast and the service was impeccable both speaking to the owner and the delivery person. Lastly, before ordering, I reviewed the reviews written on this establishment. Overall it's been a very pleasant experience. I visited with my wife, mother in law and three children. As we were quite a numerous gang, we had the chance to taste quite a lot of dishes. Although we thought the chicken tika masala was a bit too salty, the biriyani lacked a bit of fresh corriander and the vindaloo wansn't hot at all, the quality of the ingredients and the cooking method were extravagant, compensating for any doubts expressed. We specifically enjoyed the real tika in the masala (the chicken was oven baked, not boiled) and the aromas of the spices. Furthermore, the lassi was superb.
