We came here around 13:00 because of all the amazing reviews about the rabbit. We did not know that the kitchen at the Taverna does not open until 7 PM. We decided to have a half liter of wine before looking for another place to eat for lunch. While we were drinking our half liter of wine, Nikos cooked up some pizza slices, a Cretan salad, a plate of fried potatoes, a plate of spaghetti bolognese, and another half liter of wine.
We were treated like family. Roula came and drank wine and raki with us, we listened to Cretan Panigiri (traditional festival) music on YouTube and danced.

Great home cooked feel to all of it. Very friendly host Nikos was fantastic. The meatball starter was also brilliant. This place is not flashy. It is not touristy.
