Tavern Electra — Restaurant in Municipality of Chania

This place is a very local taverna with mainly local Greeks eating there. The big surprise is that the food is excellent and made from really high quality vegetables. (The guest is invited to check if they like). We were there to celebrate a birthday for a Greek friend. He brought fresh fish that he had caught himself, and the cook in the tavern prepared the fish to a marvellous dish. All the meze-dishes before the main dishes were good! Excellent local food in heaping portions, beautiful seating in the village square next to a park area with playground. The dishes are typical Cretan mountain fare, very hearty and lots of meat.
