Cretan cuisine Murelo — Restaurant in Municipality of Chersonissos

Passing through Episkopi we decided to stop for lunch - We chose this restaurant based on previous reviews and it did not disappoint- We loved the baked feta cheese starter topped with pistachios and the beef cheek pasta was absolutely delicious- Our waiter spoke excellent English and was very helpful in choosing from the menu, which had a lot of choices we haven’t had before- We were given orange cake and icecream with a homemade liqueur and raki - A really nice experience- Definitely recommend this very well run restaurant- And the toilets were super...

The restaurant is great. The service is friendlier than usual. The food awesome especially the "kotsi" (the meat was soft like butter!!!) and the chicken with cheese (sorry no photo for that).

Finally served Raki + orange pie with tons! of ice cream. God sent!

To be honest 4.5 stars for food because

1. a little bit unsalted (salad+zucchini balls) to my preference . Although you can add later.
2. The boiled weed salad and the ravioli portions were a little bit small (as seen in the photo).

In general a great choice to lunch...

The food here was the best we've had during our two week trip. Our group was made up of meat-eaters and vegetarians, everyone was happy.

We came here multiple times and tried lots of things from the menu - our favourites were the courgette balls, the saganaki, pork steak and the pork shank (exceptional).

This is an authentic, family owned restaurant where you feel truly welcomed. Our kids loved coming here. It's the only restaurant where they were happy to go back to multiple...
