We asked for the set menu 2 for €20 and asked for only a few items of that menu because it was a lot of food and we weren’t that hungry. They ended up charging us €26 because they charged our food at individual prices which they failed to mention to us beforehand. Here we were thinking that we are saving them costs by not asking for and eating everything on the set menu. There were also no individual prices on the menu provided. It basically said €10 for 1 person or €20 for 2. We therefore paid more for less items. The waiter then told us to go away when I asked for the €6 to be refunded and said we should have asked for all the items on the menu. I then said I will have the rest of the items on the set menu and not eat it and waste all that food and then they must refund me the €6. He then responds to this review by saying I can’t afford holidays. It’s not about the money here. It is how you go about running your business and in this case they are a bunch of scammers who have no idea how to provide good customer service. Horrible, dishonest people...
Read moreTaverna Krassopsychia is tucked away high up in the mountains in a cozy little village, serving very local and traditional food. Out of all the dishes we tried, it was actually the simplest one – a kind of meat patty/beef burger – that completely blew me away. One of the most flavorful experiences I’ve ever had, almost like a food orgasm! The rest of the food was also delicious, but that burger alone makes me want to return.
The atmosphere was calm and authentic, with many cats wandering around. The staff did their best to chase them away, but with little success. Don’t be afraid of the cats – they’re part of the charm here. Beneath the restaurant you’ll also find a wonderfully unique little local shop, and the restroom was honestly the cleanest and most inviting I’ve seen in Greece – a place you actually want to use!
On top of that, we were treated with 6 shots of raki and 1 very tasty traditional dessert on the house. We were two people dining, and it truly felt like we were welcomed as family.
A true hidden gem of a village...
Read moreMy sister recommended me this place after she spent 1.5 years on all greek islands, since it’s her overall favorite place! Best food we ever had anywhere in Greece! Everything is extremely freshly cooked and served! Super nice place and friendly service, beautiful atmosphere and definitely worth the drive up in the mountains! Beautiful little gift shop with local products on the ground floor, which turn out to be perfect souvenirs. However, nobody from the restaurant tries to sell you anything (they actually don’t even inform you about the tiny store). Fresh Loukoumades with ice cream as desert are on the house, prices are extremely good! Whenever I’ll get back to Crete I’ll for sure plan a dinner here again :) HIGHLY...
