Klepsydra — Restaurant in Municipality of Dionysos

I do not recommend this restaurant. I went here with a few colleagues from work because we had herd nice things but our experience was brutal. I had come here 1ce before around 12years ago, and I don't recall being amazed but wanted to try it again because things change.. it changed for the worst.

To start off the service (our waiter and he said he was also the cook) was rude rude rude. And not that typical "I am having a bad day rude" but I hate my life and don't want to serve you rude and attitude. He was not willing to answer our questions or even upsell to help the restaurant revenue. We asked for their best selling dishes and he said everything is great, and lead us to the most expensive dishes. Cool answer, so helpful(said ironically).

The pasta with seafood was overcooked and Bland. BLAND!! We then found out that they cook the pasta maybe once a day and then reheat it and serve it out. Why!??! Horrible for the price point. It should have been a 5euro pasta dish instead of 20... I work in hospitality in NYC but I have never experienced anything like this in Europe as Ive lived here for over 20years. I knew we should have left at start. Furthermore, the fresh shrimp might be the only thing that was ok, but that was it. None of us became a fan of The mussels or any of the 4 side dishes we tried. My one colleague was a fisherman for years before transfereing careers and said that the dishes were not that fresh and all the seafood could have been much better. I then realized the only customers they had were tourists and this is not a good representation of greek seafood cuisine.

I don't like writing bad reviews but sometimes it is needed because people should not waste their time, energy or money at certain spots. This is one of them.

extremely friendly service, fair prices, great food. Lots of fresh fish - its a seafood restaurant! Everything is prepared fresh to order, and you can pick “your own” fish from the coolers. Parking is difficult, but can be found close by. English menus are available. Inside and outside seating. 8.7.2019: Came back - once again great service, wonderful food - fresh and tasty. I totally recommend this place. 10.9.19 My favorite in Drosia.... I am back again and everything is as good as always before - even on a busy Saturday! Local traditional Seafood Tavern at the North Part of Athens, Drosia - in the center of Drosia. All what they serve is super fresh - some dishes are special for the place - smoked eel, cleaned shrimps with a mild sauce (garlic, oil, truffa oil) which are very tasty - usually I don’t like truffa oil but here they are really careful and to the point 🤩.
