Gem to Discover in Kokala.
Based on a casual drive past, I must admit we would never have stopped. This taverna, in the middle of Kokala, looks oh so intimidating and ever so slightly scary (for a foreigner at least).
But then we would have missed out on a real gem. Good honest Greek cooking, with local ingredients and portions / prices straight out of the 80’s.
Two of us had a Choroatiki Salad, local Siglino pork, fresh Kalamari, Goat and potatoes, tzatziki and a litre of house wine for 34 Euros. The lady of the taverna could not be more welcoming.
