We came across this lovely taverna completely by chance while staying for a couple of nights in a nearby Airbnb. It’s within easy walking distance and turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.
Without even ordering from the menu, we simply asked for food, and were presented with an array of delicious appetizers, a beautifully baked fish, a sweet dessert, and a strong espresso to finish. Every dish was incredibly fresh, full of authentic flavor, and clearly prepared with love and care.
The quality of the food exceeded all expectations – rich in taste, perfectly balanced, and elegantly served. It felt more like a curated experience than a simple meal.
And the best part? The value for money is almost unbelievable. For the level of quality and attention to detail, the prices are exceptionally fair.
If you're anywhere near the area, don’t miss this place. Whether you’re after a full dinner or just want to enjoy a local wine with some meze, To Koinotikon is an absolute gem. Highly...
Read moreExcellent food in a tiny village. Friendly reception. As many have mentioned, no menu, just serving what is locally available with no prices quoted. Small plates, and, as mentioned by several people, quite pricey for a small, remote village. Yes, more like Athens prices--which given that the food is advertised as all very local, is odd but maybe not surprising in this location. (I only hope the local producers are also getting well compensated).
As for the food, all but one of the five different mezes we tried were well-prepared and extremely tasty. Presentation was quite chic, with drizzles of balsamic reduction, or sprinkles of paprika.
Would recommend the owners use a chalk board so that they can post what they have each day (in Greek and in English), along with prices. This allows them to keep up to the minute, but also avoid the shock people have with the prices.
Lagia is also lovely, with stunning views of the sea just beyond the church across from...
