Taverna Vrachos (Βραχος) — Restaurant in Municipality of Eastern Samos

Family restaurant. No menu card offered, as owner cooks everyday fresh with daily fruits and offers and prepares changing dishes. Our cheese on top of Greek salad was homemade and very authentic & tasty. The herbs ( oregano) were taken from the mountains and shaked/ prepares for cooking at the next table. 🙂

Çok tatlı iki çift işletiyordu. Amcanın hiç İngilizcesi yoktu ama mimikleri ve el hareketleriyle misafirperverliği her hâliyle belli oluyordu. Teyze ise az İngilizcesiyle bize yardımcı oldu. Menü yok; teyze masanıza gelip o günün taze yemeklerini söylüyor. Biz 3 porsiyon köfte, 1 porsiyon şnitzel, Yunan salatası ve kabak çiçeği içinde peynir kızartması yedik. Hepsi birbirinden lezzetliydi. En sonunda bize karpuz ikram ettiler, üstelik karpuzun çekirdeklerini bile çıkarmışlardı. Bütün bu yediklerimiz artı 2 bira, 1 kola ve 1 Sprite sadece 39 € tuttu. Kesinlikle kaçırılmaması gereken, çok lezzetli ve uygun fiyatlı bir aile restoranı.

It’s run by the sweetest couple. The gentleman didn’t speak any English, but his warm hospitality was obvious through his gestures and expressions. The lady, with her limited English, kindly helped us. There’s no menu – she simply comes to your table and tells you about the fresh dishes of the day.

We had 3 meatballs, 1 schnitzel, Greek salad, and fried cheese stuffed in zucchini blossoms. Everything was absolutely delicious. At the end, they treated us to watermelon – and they had even removed all the seeds!

All of this, plus 2 beers, 1 Coke, and 1 Sprite, cost only €39. An absolute must-visit – a truly delicious and affordable...

Authentic family restaurant. We were struggling to find anywhere open. Once the host confirmed she was open, she ushered her family away from the table and recited what she had to offer. We had a lovely meal of keftades and a Greek salad, and were given ice cream to finish. Friendly, authentic, tasty....
