We arrived at this jewel of a place at around midnight, leaving behind 1000 of people in Epidavros area. After a fantastic evening at the theater I was rather pessimistic that we would find any food available and of course I had zero hope that we would find good food. This traditional family run tavern was full of people like us. We got such a surprise. First of all the staff was super friendly super kind and super professional in spite of the hundreds of people trying to order. We got he best gournopoula and best grilled chicken I have ever had and the most freshly fried potatoes I have ever had in my entire life. Simply the best grill house — not just in the region (Argolis, Peloponnese), but in all of Greece. A family business with a long tradition that has even traveled the world before returning home. The people are lovely and deeply passionate about their roots and cuisine. They use fresh, natural products from their own property.

I’ve known them for quite a while and make a point of stopping by a few times each summer. I always enjoy the lamb chops/païdakia (my favorite), the olives, and other traditional dishes — not to mention their refreshing white wine, best enjoyed under the trees on the terrace.

We found this place completely be accident. We didn’t have any BBQ because we were in Greece and wanted to experience Greek food. We had already eaten so; we only had the appetizers. There was extremely poor cell phone reception when we were there so, I was not sure if I could find it on my google maps when I got home. But I felt obligated to find it on my maps and give it a review because it was the best food, I had eaten the entire 2 ½ week vacation of exploring the mainland and 4 different islands.
