The fact that the name of the tavern is theBio Petrino attracted us. We went there for the first time. We were invited in a big party. We had cheese saganaki ! Very good the green salad was good but the dressing too sweet . The main course was a mixed grill platter. The meat was a bit over done and a bit over salted. I guess this must be a local preference. The service people were very pleasant, polite and efficient. WC it’s nothing much to write about. We did not specifically ordered something organic (bio) so we asked our waiter to tell us what of what we ate was actually certified organic. The reply was quick : “the wine the greens the cheese and the meat” I asked if their meat supplier was certified and he said yes! “The meat and cheese producer Mr. Aerakis was bio certified” I did checked on line and inside the tavern but there was no mention of any bio certification nether for the meat producer nor the tavern. Therefore the tavern’s sign was at best...

We were looking for the usual "paidakia"... but the destiny brought us to this restaurant and his owner Manolis...

Here enchanted by the sympathy and generosity of Manolis, we let ourselves be advised and we made an incredible discovery!

All we tasted was fantastic... very good taste and well cooked ! Our paidakia was the best we have ever eaten... soft and tasty! And all the other dishes with the taste of home cooking... Manolis has also a Wine list with a selection of really good wines from Crete! We strongly suggest to visit this place if you are looking for really good food and a unique experience...

This is definitely not the classic...

If you check reviews, just go it's a Must.

If not the best probably one of the best Taverns in South Crete in Messara region. Everything is made in the house, cheese croquets with tomatoe marmalade is a must, fresh fries, good quality of meat, salads on point... The portions are B-I-G. Ntolmadakia is a must aswel or Gemista(stuffed tomatoes and red peppers)... They serve you Raki and homemade desserts in the end of your dinner... I found that place by accident and since I ate there once, I always go there ever since. Good job to the owner & kitchen staff. Service is a 5/5 aswel, those youngsters are hungry...

While travelling towards south west of Crete, we were looking for a place for lunch. We've found biopetrino and the reviews made us stop by. We've enjoyed the whole experience, from the hidden nice place in Asimi, to the warm atmosphere and hospitality, and not last the best fresh dishes ( stuffed eggplant, salmon dish of the day, cooked beef in tomato sauce, and sea bream on the grill-all were just perfect). You will definetly want to try if your paths take you around. Nice sweets and frozen raki on the house. Compliments to the cook and to the young nice waiter!
