This taverna is situated on the outskirts of Anatoli. Do not be put off by the inside which serves as a storage area for drinks and fresh produce. All of the seating is at the front of the taverna, with some under a canopy of vine leaves (a welcome relief to the Cretan sun). You will receive a very friendly welcome when you sit down. The owner/hostess is also the chef and she will tell you what is on the menu on that day. Not the way we do things but we got used to this and we chose different dishes each time we ate there. The food is fantastic, the feta is to die for as are the traditional cheese pies with honey! Always greeted with a bowl of little Crete olives and sometimes with stuffed vine leaves and stuffed courgette flowers (delicious). The food and drink is very reasonably priced, you'll be surprised when the bill arrives. The locals all get in there later on in the evening and they're all so friendly. My daughter lost a sentimental ring whilst there....they all got up and looked for it with us. A kind local lady found it and returned it to my daughter. On our last evening, the taverna owner brought us complimentary drinks, she did not know it was our last night. She simply brought them over to be kind. Such a lovely lady (she's the one standing at the front with the glasses on in the photo), she really did add to the whole real Crete experience.

A wonderful taverna in a small town. The lady who runs this place is so friendly and attentive. The food was great with large portions and an authentic flavour. You do not want to miss out on this place if you're looking for a friendly location with delicious food and a fantastic atmosphere.

Really nice traditional Taverna. If you want to get real Crete experience and a family atmosphere. It’s one of the best places for it at the island. Also the small old town of Anatolia is it travel into past times. Lovely! The food is also very good.

We spend with family last two weeks in Anatoli and eat at the taverna every second day, the owner and chef is a lovely lady who cooks amazing food, we loved all the traditional dishes she prepared there’s no menu but the chicken or steak is always an option, every day she cooks different main dish and some extra vegetables dishes. It’s great place always with local people who are very friendly, everything was so good and delicious and prices are very very reasonable. Highly recommend to all who stays there or will be passing by. Krisitina thank you for the great food, Izabela...

Very glad to have had spent time here. There is no menu but the food is excellent and fresh. I was given the option to try the chicken which came grilled with fried potatoes and a salad on the side. It was very good. If you’re ever in town or driving by, stop in and get a real Greek home cooked meal. Very...
