Tavern Panorama — Restaurant in Municipality of Ierapetra

Lone females beware... The views are breathtaking here but one particular staff member needs addressing. I experienced an unnerving interaction with a male waiter. I was with my 2 teenage children, and my 16 year old daughter immediately said she caught him looking down her top at the start. After we ate I went down to the toilet alone when I came out the waiter appeared from behind a blind and stopped me on the stairs. He held his hand out and asked my name I politely shock his and told him my name, he held onto my hand tightly, asking about the food and then tried pulling me back down the stairs speaking about the view, I pulled my hand away and said I have already got some great photos upstairs. He then proceeded to reach out and hold above my knee, asking if I was on holiday, I pushed his hand away and said absolutely not, no and started to walk away up the stairs, he carried on saying he was 27 and I said well I'm 38 and those are mine and my husbands 2 children upstairs and walked away.

He Made me feel extremely uncomfortable and I dread to think if it had been my 16 year old daughter alone. When I told my children my daughter said he immediately followed me down the stairs when I went.

I wish I had spoken out there and then but I was so embarrassed I just wanted to leave quickly.

Stopped by 9 months ago just for a drink and a look at the amazing view, this time family was hungry and we decided to eat at the tavern on our way to Sitia, all I can say is OH MY GOD, this place was amazing!! First the humble owner and chef Νεκτάριος warmly welcomed us and at the door and said “before you decide what you want please come to the kitchen and see what today’s specials are…he pulls out all the pans and pots from the oven and stove top showing us amazing home cooked traditional greek dishes like my mom and grandmother cook, we literally had one of each, especially loved the stuffed cucumber flowers! He ended the meal with complementary dessert , delicious fruit and a shot of Raki for the table….beautiful view, super nice family and once again the fresh home made food was cherry on top! Can’t wait to go back on the drive...
