Taverna Klimataria — Restaurant in Municipality of Karpathos

This place deserves to be a lot more well known than it is. Relaxed environment and clearly popular with the local people, which is always a good sign. We sat outside on the balcony that gave us a wonderful views of the valley settling in for the evening, then watching all the lights come on gradually into the night to give the perfect chilled setting to a lovely meal. We had a Greek salad, bread, cheese with caramelised grapes (addictive) and a very generous and very tasty mixed grill. Wonderful lady who owns the place and a little shout out to GS Rocky 🐶 (those ears…!❤️) . Klimataria Tavern in Volada Karpathos is an absolute gem! The food is delicious and the service is top-notch. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and made to feel right at home. The menu is full of traditional Greek dishes, all made with fresh, local ingredients. We especially loved the Stifado, Makarounes and Soutzoukakia. The ambiance of the tavern is cozy and inviting, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Fantastic place. Really traditional food. Beautiful views out towards Karpathos town and the mountains. Greek salad was super fresh & huge. The baked Greek cheese (mournas?) and sweet marinated grapes was totally delicious and for main we shared the mixed grill which was one of the best plates of meat we’ve ever had.
