We had the pleasure of dining at Under the Trees Tavern in Karpathos for lunch, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The food was simply outstanding, with a variety of delicious options like fried zucchini, french fries, huge fresh salad, fish, seafood, and grilled meats - all cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The quality of the food was truly impressive and left a lasting impression on me.

What truly made our visit special was the amazing service we received. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout our meal.

The location of the tavern is also worth mentioning. Set under a beautiful canopy of trees, the ambiance was peaceful and serene, providing the perfect backdrop for a relaxing lunch and dinner.

We arrived around 20:00 and thought they were closed. That wasn't the case. There were even other guests.(1table) Due to the cold wind they were hiding close to the house. For us, Dutch, we thought it wasn't that cold however the waitress thought it was freezing cold. The food was really great and way too much. Greek salad, chicken and pig meat and of course tzatziki. Greek coffee to end up with. After half an hour we were the only guests. This resulted in a very pleasant conversation with the owner and the waitress. These kind of things make a visit even better. We’ve been here for lunch. What to say… Amazing food, atmosphere and service for a very affordable price. The fava was very good, the bread and the oil amazing. The highlights were the grilled dorade and the gigantic grilled squid, served with a mountain of fries. Portions are very generous and the quality is high! After the meal, you can enjoy a little and deserved nap on their sunbeds. Walking few steps towards the sea, you can find a little beach with a natural pool and with direct access to the sea.
