Review from June 2021
We visited Lofaki last night after getting married at this venue 3 years ago. We contacted the owner Manias and he also sorted out a transfer for us from our hotel and back again which was half the price quoted by another transfer company |had got a quote from and the transfer was a lovely VIP van. Manias had got us the best table right on the grass edge with the best views of the sunset and looking over to Bodrum but let me tell you there is no bad seat in this beautiful Restaurant everywhere you sit inside and outside you can see all the amazing views. I know a lot of people like to go to Zia to see the sunset and eat but it is so overcrowded there and this place is such a relaxed atmosphere with the tables spaced out well it really has that romantic classy feel to it and this is definitely the best choice. I have attached a photo from my wedding three years ago and one from last night so you can see the wonderful photo opportunities you can have just as the sun is setting. (Make sure you arrive for around 8pm to see the full sunset) When the sun has gone down there's lovely ambient lightening and little lights on every table it really is such a special setting and you can watch the ferries and boats on the sea it's truly special. Now onto the actual food and drink the prices are very very reasonable with the unique location and view. There is a huge choice of starters, mains and desserts to feed all taste buds and the food itself is absolutely fantastic quality. The staff are brilliant and cannot do enough to help you. Manias also treated us to a round of our drinks on the house to say thank you to us for coming back to visit his restaurant- where do you get that kind of hospitality- no thank you Manias for such a special evening! This is a must visit for your holiday to Kos and I promise you you will want to return before you go home as it is such a special place! I recommend for you to book so you are not disappointed but you can email or message the restaurant on Facebook they are very active and will get back to you ASAP. Thank you so much Manias and your staff you made our wedding so memorable three years ago and last night was also a very special evening. Every time we visit kos we will come and visit you without fail and dine in your special...
Read moreWe got married at Lofaki Bar Restaurant on 6th July 2024.
We explored whether we get married at home or abroad. After a lot of research, we chose abroad. We chose Greece. We chose Kos. We chose Lofaki.
I'm writing this review just have one week of getting married, now having unpacked, done our washing and back to work, we are still completely elated with our wedding day at Lofaki. Our wedding guests are also still raving about it, stating that it was one of the best weddings they've been too.
Now maybe that's because of us, but I recon it's got a lot to do with the service, the atmosphere, the food, the friendliness, and of course, the amazing view.
Truly, it was a dream! We could not have asked for anything more.
Vasilis took on all the planning and arranging from hair and makeup that came to our hotel, transport for all guests, photographer, to the signing of the legal documents in Kos town hall and more, It was all sorted.
There were times where we wondered whether plans should be in place earlier, but this was our own anxieties due to being in the UK and hoping for the best. Put your trust in the process, put your trust in Vasilis, you will not be disappointed.
We are so grateful to Vasilis and the team, including Kerry, George and others at Lofaki's bar and restaurant staff and all who came together to make such a memorable and special occasion for us.
We were a wedding party of 41 in total, including some young children and so chose to pay for exclusive hire.
The guests loved the food they choose, ranging from Lamb, Chicken with a honey glaze, Steak with pepper sauce, Gyros and more. The intimate venue, the Greek dancers, the bar staff who joined in the fun on the dance floor at one point, it was all amazing.
We have received our professional photographs already, and they are stunning.
The photos attached are only a snapshot, but hopefully, you get the idea.
Thank you so much to all the team at Lofaki Bar & Restaurant for a day we will never...
Read moreOne star for the beautiful view, one star for the good, friendly and attentive service - however, that is all.
The food is simply not good - I have my doubts that the current chef is a real, trained chef, the quality would seem more like car mechanic - turned restaurant owner.
Starters: We received a complementary vegetable soup as a greeting from the kitchen. That may be a nice touch, however It tasted a lot like store-bought Maggi Fonds with a dollup of Greek yoghurt.
After that we had the Greek trilogy of hummus, tzaziki and split pea dip with pita bread. Tzaziki was okay, yet tasted store bought. Split peas was probably the best thing we had over the dinner and was okay. Hummus had a taste to it that we categorized as sour, I don’t want to go so far as to say it just tasted expired.
Main Courses: Main reason for us to write this review - sorry. We ordered the gyros and the chicken Lofaki.
The gyros had a texture that was close to beef jerky. If I had to guess I would say the meat was either sitting on a rotating spit for hours or had been there for that long and then reheated plus refried to order. The pita bread below was hard, dry and without tzaziki tasted burnt. Potatoes, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and tzaziki were okay.
The chicken lofaki was at least to us inedible - it just tasted like nothing I would ever want to eat again. Obviously tastes differ so I am not going to judge too harshly, maybe other people like it?. However, the accompanying potatoes were a) partly undercooked / raw and b) featured not only eyes, but actual seedlings.
All in all, my impression is that this restaurant lives off of its view and wedding business, which is a fine business model. The meat issues, taste of the main courses and hummus would currently definitely not make me come back for...
