Taverna Fytorio — Restaurant in Municipality of Kos

A beautiful greek taverna on the road from Kos to Kefalos. We are amazed with the hospitality of the people, but this particular taverna has a special place in our hearts and we went dining there the next day again. A big variety of food, and it is really good. Staff is really friendly, and we also like the ambient. The best chicken gyros so far in my opinion. The prices are unexpectedly cheaper than other restaurants. If the taverna is busy, you might wait a little longer for your order and food because of only 2 staff members, but that doesn't matter. Good place to have a quick lunch. More than enough place to park your car. The food is really cheap. One of the cheapest in Kos. But you can also see the low prices back in the quality of the food. This was not the greatest. Pita gyros was oke, but for example the baklava that they had. That was absolutely not fresh and days old. The toilet is also disgusting. Just because of the really low prices it is getting a 3 star. Tips from my side: make sure the toilet is cleaned regularly. Have fresh dessert like baklava and don’t serve old ones to...

Before coming here on our holiday in September 2025 I had been on Google maps looking for somewhere we could go that was out of the tourist places and unique and traditional greek and found this beautiful place. We hired a car for 3 days and knew this was one of the places we had to visit and was wasnt disappointed.
