We just visited the place, June 4/2022, after recommendations we heard from friends in Athens. I have to admit this was a really great dinner. Ok, the place was not full, 5-6 tables, so service was super friendly, Eugenia the waitress was very talkative, smiling, explained in details the dishes and apologized for not having everything that was written on the menu ( just the fourth day since opening). We also had the chance to meet Niko, the owner, a really positive, friendly man, who had the idea to start the place in 1998, in the middle of nowhere and succeeded because of experience and quality.

The restaurant is serving their own products, bread from their own wheat, rooster and meat are theirs, of course olive oil, olives and wine. We found the portions really big, hardly could finish. Very clean place in a terrace with many plants, private parking, fair prices, offers a sweet or a small home made drink at the end. We will definitely return to taste more dishes for sure. I read some negative comments about: I really don't understand the ones talking about quantity, quality and expensive prices. BUT we came off season, so everybody was relaxed. I maybe wouldn't go in August ( like nowhere in Greece), since famous, good places get really crazy busy, so service might be "stressed", but I m definitely sure that quality and prices would...

The food itself was average, but in a bad way. This place is heavily marketed in a country (and specifically in an island) that food marketing isn't the norm. That should have tipped us to not go there but... we all make mistakes, don't we? What was absolutely horrible was the service. It looks like an establishment straight from hells kitchen, but alas Mr Ramsey never set foot inside. It took 30 minutes for the waiter to even get our order, 30+ more minutes for the mediocre food to arrive, and around 35 minutes for the final bill.

Food itself was OK. Not great, not terrible but every single dish we tried had major flaws: a "smoked" aubergine for example doesn't mean "charred to oblivion and then some", but I digress... In a country famous for its culinary culture you can do better. Way, way , wayyyyy better than this place Save your dignity and your money and dine...

We went around 6.00pm. The place was not crowded at all and the service was fast. The portions are quite generous and the prices are reasonable , 15 euros for the rooster , 6 euros for the local cheese and 6.5 for the Greek salad. The rooster was very tasty , the sauce smelled like fresh tomatoes and the meat was very soft. We got the fried eggplant/zucchini plate. They were fried to perfection and there was not so much batter on them. The tzatziki is strong - great if you love a garlicky as I do. Try the smoked pork . It’s the size of a side dish and good to share for 2-3 people. The woody , smoky taste was out of this world. The restaurant has its own ample parking space across the street. Definitely add this place to your bucket list.

Generally regular tavern with more standard dishes, not too much choice. Half of the menu was not available. Big portions are a plus, but this is not what we were looking for.. We were expecting to try some local dishes, but didn't get any different than the ones you can try everywhere on the island, nor some specific recipes. Saying this should note also that narrow menu options are something normal for the restaurants here. Some of the prices are high, like fried potatoes for 6 euro which is ridiculous.. In conclusion, I couldn't recommend anything specific as a choice although I have tried quite a few things at this taverna over the years
