Smart people don't judge a book by its cover, a product by its packaging design, a restaurant by its exterior design. Notis is a great example of the sayings mentioned in the previous sentence. The exterior resembles the classic Greek Souvlaki venues from the 80s. A lot of people nowadays would simply walk past it due to its looks. We almost did too. But the interior and most importantly the products belong to the future! Everything Notis and Demetrios prepared for us was made with high quality ingredients, everything was handmade including the traditional and Arabic pitas, and they all tasted great! The falafels tasted like they were true meatballs despite having absolutely no meat at all inside them! The fresh French fries looked and tasted awesome, they even brought us 5 different kinds of their own handmade sauces for the fries and our meat. Their portions are rather big, so order with that in mind unless you eat as much as two and a half... men 😄 The Skepasti with Arabic pita and pork steak pieces was fantastic. Their yogurt kebab dish was brilliant. Simply the best kebab I have tasted in Greece thus far! Their pricing is very reasonable, and for some of their menu items it's even better than reasonable, for example their awesome gyro or kalamaki traditional souvlaki costs 2.2€ while the average price in the region is 2.7€. Notis and Demetrios are both very friendly and chatty folks who love what they do and go to great lengths to make sure every single customer that enters their venue leaves very happy and with an urge to come back and taste more of their stuff soon! Whenever you're in the region make sure you visit their nice garden and enjoy their great dishes under the Greek night sky! Keep in mind that on busy days they are... pretty busy and you'll need to make a...
Read moreI didn’t get the chance to photograph the food as it was that good. Notis and his staff were the most friendly team, going out of their way to make us feel welcomed. Notis sat with us and explained how he creates fresh, nutritious food, explaining each meal in detail. We explained that we had visited Greece for IVF treatment, and his kindness and genuine compassion shone through, even sitting us on table next to a plant that is good for fertility. He explained how the food he cooks has nutritional elements that help with conception and had a massive amount of knowledge and passion for his food. Walking around on foot to find the place was fun, settled in a housing complex, I admit I had my doubts on how good this place could be, but it really did exceed all expectations. The food was packed with intense flavours and we didn’t really talk to each other as we ate, just the odd ‘mmm’. We didn’t really know what to order as everything sounded great, so we order 3 starters, two mains and a pudding to share. If it wasn’t for a nearby cat fight, I would have fell into a food coma. Thanks for taking the stress out of our trip and providing a wonderful evening for my wife and I. I hope the fertility plant does its magic, but if not, we will definitely...

This tavern is located in the cute gardens between some buildings in the affluent neighborhood of Pefki. I had heard outstanding reviews from the locals so I visited with my family. We immediately got a warm welcome and a VIP treatment from the owner (the co owner speaks Spanish, by the way) which we have only encountered in michelin star restaurants!
Each dish was an experience!Nothing heavy, everything made -and as I said to Notis- as if it was cooked by angels! Excellent salad, excellent suvlakis, fine wine. The atmosphere is relaxed and it’s a kids friendly restaurant as they can run around freely with no danger from passing cars.
We had some left overs and Notis gladly packed it for taking it out.
If you are in downtown Athens, you can take the M1 metro line and it takes about half an hour to get to the KAT Metro stop, then it’s a 15’ walk in a beautiful, safe and green neighborhood. Even easier if you have a car, lots of free parking nearby.
Very memorable experience! I’ll definitely visit again...
