the Mouries — Restaurant in Municipality of Mandra-Eidyllia

Have had lunch /dinner many times. Space is nice compared to other Vilia options, especially the outdoor well physically shaded terrace under mouries, the trees that the place is named after. Food is typical for a good Greek village tavern and cost reasonable - used to be cheaper though.What is missing is the standard quality, also typical for a village tavern. Meat sometimes will be perfect other ones not so good. However the main issue is cleanliness. Lunch time outdoors tenths of flies and bees accompany you and it seems that years pass but nothing is done to cope with this. In addition, after some time the terrace is full of fallen forks, papers, napkins - many of them used - but the personnel just walks through as they are not there ! At the end of the day It all makes an unpleasant atmosphere to dine in. And it becomes even more worse by the waiters : same people collect this used plates, glasses, forks etc. all in hand and afterwards bring the new “clean” ones for you, most of them with stinks of oil etc. Hygienically and aesthetically unacceptable ! It’s a pity because the food is good, and this steady and continuous situation that never changes depreciates the place in general. If no measures are taken (they are simple and chip, just a little bit of care and professionalism is needed) we won’t visit the place again. Last meal ended with a clear win for the...

We came here because it was the only restaurant open for lunch during our visit to Vilia. The waiter was nice, but that's about it. They didn't have over half of the dishes on the menu. The greek salad came without feta, though we were asked whether we wanted it with or without feta (we said we wanted the feta, of course). When we asked where is the feta, they said they ran out of it.... We ordered vegetable rice but received dry, tasteless rice instead (with no vegetables!). We ordered a beef stake and received a pork stake instead (which was well prepared, actually). For some reason, they bothered to insist that that white-greyish piece of meet was beef (which has a red-pinkish colour when prepared medium, as we requested).

I am hoping for them that this was a rare day of unfortunate mistakes.

The young waiter was nice and courteous, and we noticed that he was a bit embarrassed from this situation, ...

Αρχικά θα πω ότι πήγαμε αργία , 15αυγουστο και κάναμε μια κράτηση από την προηγούμενη μέρα καθώς γνωρίζαμε ότι μπορεί να μην υπάρχει διαθεσιμότητα. Πηγαίνοντας στο κατάστημα περιμέναμε γύρω στα 20 λεπτά για να παραγγείλουμε και το μενού ήταν σε φύλλα α4 τα οποία τα είχανε συρράψει . Κακή πρώτη εντύπωση και δικαιολογημένα .Κατα τη διάρκεια της παραγγελίας ενημερωθήκαμε ότι δεν υπάρχει προβατίνα γιατί τη συγκεκριμένη περίοδο δεν κόβουν τα σφαγεία αλλά αυτό είναι εντάξει και φυσικά αντί αυτού παραγγείλαμε αρνί της σούβλας 1 κιλό , λουκάνικα και κοκορέτσι .Τα ορεκτικά ήταν παντελώς αδιάφορα και άνοστα , πατάτες κρύες , τα κολοκυθάκια τηγανητά μέτρια , το τζατζίκι οκ και η σαλάτα το μοναδικό που άξιζε περισσότερο από όλα . Όταν λοιπόν ήρθε ο σερβιτόρος να φέρει το κοκορέτσι και τα λουκάνικα ανέφερε πως τελικά αρνί της σούβλας είχε 600γρ και να προσθέσουμε παιδάκια για να συμπληρώσουμε το κιλό . Το αποδεχτήκαμε χωρίς να έχουμε κάποια άλλη επιλογή τη στιγμή που το ενημερωθήκαμε , δηλαδή στη μέση του φαγητού . Από όλα τα κρεατικά φυσικά και άξιζε μόνο το λουκάνικο !!! Το κοκορέτσι κρύο , το αρνί και τα παιδάκια ξεραμένα . Για να πληρώσουμε εννοείται άλλη πόση ώρα ….. Επίσης για να μη φανώ άδικη το μαγαζί είχε κόσμο όταν πήγαμε αλλά δεν ήταν γεμάτο για να δικαιολογηθεί ο πανικός των σερβιτόρων ,η απουσία οργάνωσης , η έλλειψη των κρεάτων του καταλόγου (πήγαμε 2 παρά το μεσημέρι ) καθώς και το φαγητό που ήταν κάτω του μετρίου . Επιπρόσθετα οι τιμές ήταν τσιμπημένες γενικά αλλά και ειδικά για όλη αυτήν την εμπειρία . Τελος να πούμε ότι μια τέτοια μέρα ειδικά θα έπρεπε να υπάρχει οργάνωση και προετοιμασία(15 Αυγούστου ταβέρνα στο χωριό των Βιλλίων) .Σίγουρα δε θα το συστηνα σε φίλους και σίγουρα δε θα ξαναπηγαίνα αφού και δώσαμε 100 ευρώ και η εμπειρία ήταν δυσάρεστη από...
