Schinias Tavern — Restaurant in Municipality of Marathonas

The place is nice, the service was also really kind. Thus the 2 stars, not 1.

The food, in turn was very hectic. They offered lamb which I chose and I asked fried potatoes next to it. The fries were actually good, but they brought it along with appetizers. The lamb came about 20 minutes later, of course the fries were mostly gone, what my kids left, was cold already. The lamb was extremely awkward. I think it was some remnant and it felt like it was fried(!) and it was so salty that you could see pieces of salt on it, like on Bretzel.

My son ordered burgers (thinking it will be hamburger) and what he got (after we've finished all other meals) was two pieces of meatloafs without anything else. I'm usually very tolerant but this felt like a hoax.

We also ordered some feta and fried zucchini which were also very low quality.

When I paid - quite a lot compared to the shameful food - the guy asked kindly whether we "loved it". He was really nice, so I had no heart to say anything else but the fact my son thought he'll get some burgers - since that was written on the menu.

It's important to mention we were there in February there were barely any...

We have been there yesterday for dinner with friends. The lady who.took our order and the chef welcomed us and took care perfectly. The place was very nice and calm, so the atmosphere was relaxing and pleasant. Our food was more than delicious. Everything fresh, tasty and cooked on the moment. French fries was handmade and the squid was incredibly soft. The price was really good for the quantity and quality. For 4 of us, we took starters, fishes and meat. With wine and water we pay 71 euro. We could easily took less and we couldnt finish what we had. Thank you very much for the amazing last night we...

Πήγαμε πρόσφατα σε ένα ταβερνάκι στον Μαραθώνα, το οποίο αρχικά μας άφησε πολύ θετική εντύπωση. Ο χώρος ήταν ζεστός, το περιβάλλον φιλικό και το φαγητό που παραγγείλαμε (σαλάτες, μεζέδες, πατάτες, τζατζίκι, μπύρες) ήταν νόστιμο.

Είχαμε επίσης παραγγείλει μισό κιλό κοτόπουλο παϊδάκια, το οποίο όμως καθυστέρησε αρκετά — είχαν ήδη περάσει περίπου 40 λεπτά. Θεωρήσαμε ότι ίσως είχε ξεχαστεί, κι επειδή είχαμε ήδη χορτάσει, δεν παραπονεθήκαμε. Όταν τελικά ζητήσαμε τον λογαριασμό, τότε μας έφεραν το κοτόπουλο. Με πολλή ευγένεια εξήγησα ότι δυστυχώς δεν μπορούσαμε πια να το φάμε και προσφέρθηκα να το πληρώσουμε αν χρειάζεται. Μου είπαν ότι δεν υπάρχει πρόβλημα και μέχρι εκείνη τη στιγμή όλα φαινόντουσαν πολιτισμένα.

Δυστυχώς, η συνέχεια μας απογοήτευσε. Στο ταμείο η κοπέλα μού μίλησε με άσχημο τρόπο, αμφισβητώντας ότι περιμέναμε περίπου 40 λεπτά και επιμένοντας σε διαφορετικό χρόνο. Ο ψήστης επίσης μού μίλησε απότομα, κάτι που μας ξάφνιασε, μιας και η στάση μας παρέμενε ευγενική.

Το πιο άσχημο κομμάτι, όμως, ήρθε λίγο αργότερα: καθώς καθόμασταν στο αυτοκίνητο έξω από το μαγαζί για λίγα λεπτά, ο ιδιοκτήτης βγήκε και μας κατηγόρησε δημοσίως ότι γράφαμε αρνητικές κριτικές εκείνη τη στιγμή. Μας χαρακτήρισε «απαράδεκτες» και μας μίλησε μπροστά σε κόσμο με τρόπο που πραγματικά δεν αρμόζει σε επαγγελματία της εστίασης. Προσπαθήσαμε να εξηγήσουμε ότι δεν συνέβαινε κάτι τέτοιο, αλλά δυστυχώς δεν άκουσε.

Ήταν κρίμα, γιατί το φαγητό ήταν καλό και η πρώτη εικόνα του μαγαζιού θετική. Όμως η συμπεριφορά που δεχτήκαμε στο τέλος μάς άφησε πολύ δυσάρεστη γεύση. Ένα χαμόγελο και λίγη ψυχραιμία θα αρκούσαν για να φύγουμε με εντελώς...
