This was an absolute delight. Nothing I read/heard about this place could have prepared me for how great/hilarious this meal was.
First off, getting here is an adventure in and of itself as it’s the only thing around. You’ve got to drive deep into the mountainside and then down to the coast for about a half hour and you’ll be luckily if you pass another person on the way there. You drive past remote hillside monasteries and seaside churches to park in a field next to a herd of goats right next to the water. In the distance is a barrier-less seaside road, lapped by waves that leads you to a tiny taverna that on windy days is almost becoming one with the sea. For about half the patio, the waves lap up onto your feet and under the tables every few minutes and the effect on a hot Greek afternoon is delightful. (Wear Sandals!) They have a few things on the menu, seemingly all made from scratch and all clearly utilizing the local farms around them. We got caught in a huge herd of slow moving goats walking down the seaside path to the restaurant, so naturally, slow roasted goat in lemon sauce was the special that afternoon.
The food was out of this world good given the remote and almost mythical location. If you’re on Milos with a car for almost any amount of time, do yourself a solid and set aside time...
Read moreI decided to take this difficult drive Due to my AirBnb host recommending the restaurant and mentioning it had good fish but I don’t believe it was worth the hassle. The staff was very nice and the views were great but unfortunately the food was not something I would make the drive for again. I had hoped for a few fish selections but out of the items that were available on my visit, fish was not one of them, therefore we had to improvise and try to find something else on the menu, which did not work out well. I would recommend anyone considering this location to closely review the menu and even call to ensure the items they want are available. Do have to say the best part of the meal was the free little dish of lime yogurt with cookie...
Read moreThis is the restaurant where we felt most relaxed during our stay on Milos. The location and the seating at sea level are really unique.
Food-wise it really feels like you’re eating at your grandmas. The food is not gastronomical but nice and easy. It’s nice to have fries once in a while, and they were actually really good. Prices are very reasonable, locals go there too.
Very friendly personnel.
No worries going there by vehicle. They can’t build a proper road in that area due to the law protecting the local red viper. The road is easy compared to other areas of the island, which can also be cleared with a good ol’ Fiat Panda. Just go slowly, especially if you’re on a scooter as it can be slippery in the dirt at...
