an incredible, unforgettable beach. photos of this beach were what initially drew my husband and i to visit milos.

while the “beach” portion located at the end of the inlet is quite small, there’s plenty of relatively flat and smooth rock to lay/sit on along the water. we read reviews before going and decided to visit other beaches during the day and visit sarakiniko at sunset to avoid the crowds that other reviewers had mentioned. the light on the rocks at sunset turned out to be breathtaking, and there were hardly any people around. the water was calm and crystal clear.

we loved it so much, we decided to go again at sunrise a few days later. there were more people around at that time of day, including a whole crew of photographers, videographers, and a small plane doing several very low overhead flybys for a shoot, but the beach was plenty big so we didn’t really cross paths with anyone.

the inlet is nice for casual and relaxed swimming, and the caves on the other side would appeal more to those wanting to cliff jump. (i recommend trying both!) as well, be sure to wear supportive shoes for the walk down. the ground is uneven and it’s easy to trip/slip if you aren’t careful. it’s also quite rough for bare feet in some places if you’re climbing out of the water, so keep...
