Heute haben meine Frau und ich die Bread Factory in Athen besucht. Als wir eigentlich nur nach einem gewöhnlichen Bäcker suchten, stießen wir hier auf eine beeindruckende Auswahl an Backwaren, Snacks und Gerichten. Der Laden bietet wirklich alles, was man sich nur vorstellen kann: frisches Gebäck, hausgemachte Kuchen, Kekse, süße und herzhafte Snacks sowie Mittagessen zum Mitnehmen. Es war fast überwältigend, und wir hatten das Gefühl, dass es dort wirklich nichts gibt, was sie nicht anbieten.

Die Auswahl an Speisen Für die süßen Speisen entschieden wir uns für ein Croissant mit Bueno-Füllung, einen Schokoladenkuchen und einen Biscoff-Lotus-Kuchen. Zum Mittagessen probierte meine Frau die Spaghetti Bolognese, während ich mich für Lachs mit Pommes entschied.

Mittagessen Die Spaghetti Bolognese meiner Frau waren solide – keine absolute Spitzenklasse, aber für knapp unter 5 Euro ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Mein Lachs mit Pommes war etwas teurer (12 Euro), was ich für einen akzeptablen Preis halte. Der Lachs selbst war leider etwas trocken, aber die Pommes waren köstlich und schienen hausgemacht zu sein.

Süße Auswahl Der Schokoladenkuchen hatte eine sehr intensive Glasur aus Zartbitterschokolade, die geschmacklich nicht ganz meinen Vorstellungen entsprach – das ist aber sicherlich eine Frage des persönlichen Geschmacks. Der Lotus-Kuchen hingegen war ein Volltreffer: richtig lecker und empfehlenswert. Das Croissant mit Bueno-Füllung war geschmacklich sehr gut, mit einer intensiven Haselnusscreme, die stark an das bekannte Bueno erinnert. Allerdings war das Croissant selbst etwas zu hart und hätte etwas fluffiger sein können.

Service und Atmosphäre Der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Mitarbeiter waren hilfsbereit, sprachen gutes Englisch und machten unseren ersten Besuch sehr angenehm.

Fazit Insgesamt hat die Bread Factory bei uns einen positiven Eindruck hinterlassen. Die große Vielfalt an süßen und herzhaften Speisen macht es zu einem tollen Ort für ein schnelles Mittagessen oder einen süßen Snack zwischendurch. Obwohl nicht jedes Gericht perfekt war, überwiegt das positive Gesamterlebnis. Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen, sei es für ein Mittagessen oder um die süßen Leckereien weiter...
