These are the sort of places you should visit, if you want to escape the usual tourist traps. It scores on all points: the place has a lovely sea view, with lots car free space for the children to roam. The food is excellent everything we tried was well cooked and fresh. The main dish is fish and sea food, but also many local specialities like huge Greek salads, flowers of zucchini filled with cheese, grilled octapus, cheese filled fried bureks, sweet watermelon or baklava with almonds for dessert. I traveled all around Greece by motorcycle. From Athens to Thessaloniki, I walked everywhere. For the first time in my life, I felt cheated on Lesvos Island. I had ordered a fish called Orphoz. Apparently, the fish itself cost €100. All I wanted was a simple grilled fish. They recommended it to me, and I accepted. In total, I paid €150. Just a watch out for tourists in the low season, this place was temporarily closed and opened on May 26th. Our disappointment of arriving before that date (as our accomodation was in this town) was totally compensated when last sunday we arrived after a long exhausting day at midnight and were still accepted for dinner (we learned they close at 1:00). Food was very good though my opinion may be biased given I was hungry after a 1.5 hour drive through the mountains...
