One of the best meals of our trip. On the last night of our sailing trip, we moored off of Macynia, and came ashore for dinner. The port was rustic, which we expected. We first checked out the other fish restaurant, but walked on to Tavern Lappas. We were greeted warmly, and served an amuse bouche of smelts (I believe) marinated in lemon juice and olive oil, and fish roe spread. I am not usually one for roe, or tiny pickled fish, but these were both delicious. It just goes to show that your mom was right, and you should try everything. The bread was also delicious. We selected a local seasonal fish from the selection in the kitchen. Everything looked extremely fresh, and I’m sure it was. I believe the seasonal local fish we ordered was lavraki, grilled, and served with lemon and olive oil sauce. It was reasonable at 30€ per kilo, and plenty of fish for three people. We also ordered delicious grilled shrimp, a shrimp pasta, dakos salad (one of my favorite foods I’ve discovered in Greece; I order it every time I see it on the menu), and a Greek salad. Everything was expertly prepared and so delicious.

When we asked about dessert, the server seemed apologetic, like their offerings weren’t great, but he said they had lemon yogurt mousse, watermelon, and small ice creams. Somehow we ended up with complimentary servings of all of it, and it was all tasty, especially the lemon mousse. It felt like perhaps the most authentic meal we had during our entire 2.5 week trip, and was definitely one of our favorites. Lovely people who know how to prepare food expertly. Staff - very polite and patience to Asian as we could only converse in English. But they've tried their best to help us understand their menu. Thumbs up!

Ambience - well maintained and clean. The restaurant is located right beside the beach. It would be a nice experience to dine during day time. Too bad we arrived late and couldn't spot anything.

Food - steamed mussel is superb! The mussels are fresh! Plus their secret recipe, the mussels taste even greater. Fried code fish recommended by staff is extremely fresh and tender. Grilled octopus tastes good as well. Ordered steamed blue crab but the crab wasn't as fresh as it should be hence it...

Λοιπόν, είμαι ανάμεσα στα 3 και στα 4 αστέρια αλλά διαβάζοντας θα καταλάβετε γιατί έβαλα 3. Ξεκινάω από το μέρος, πολύ ωραίο δίπλα στη θάλασσα με ηρεμία και ωραία θέα. Ο ιδιοκτήτης έχει δική του βάρκα και τα ψάρια είναι δικά του. Πάμε στα φαγητά τώρα. Δυστυχώς υπάρχουν έντονα σκαμπανεβάσματα από τη μια φορά στην άλλη λες και το team της κουζίνας είναι διαφορετικό κάθε φορά. Έχω φάει πολύ ωραία γαριδομακαρονάδα αλλά και μια λάσπη που δεν τρωγόταν. Ολόφρεσκα πολύ ωραία μπαρμπούνια και κουτσομούρες που όμως ήταν ξεροτηγανισμένα και κάποια από αυτά ξεκοιλιασμένα λες κι αυτός που τα καθάρισε το έκανε πρώτη φορά. Μια θεϊκή ψαρόσουπα με βραστό μπακαλιάρο από τις ωραιότερες που έχω φάει ποτέ. Ψητό μπσκαλιαράκι επίσης πολύ ωραίο. Πολύ ωραία καλαμαράκια αλλά πάλι αδικημένα στο τηγάνι. Σαρδέλα ψητή πολύ καλή. Τελειώνοντας να πω ότι αν είσαστε μεγάλη παρέα πρέπει να συμφωνήσετε τι ακριβώς θα φάτε γιατί κάποια φορά με λίγο κουτοπόνηρο τρόπο μάς φόρτωσαν στο τραπέζι πολύ περισσότερα πράγματα από όσα είχαμε ζητήσει. Οι τιμές του είναι τίμιες για την ποιότητα του ψαριού που τρως. Όμως το τηγάνι του θέλει πολύ δουλειά και η κουζίνα δεν επιτρέπεται να έχει τέτοια έντονα...

I've traveled to 56 counties and this is one of the best meals I've ever eaten in my life. You'll have to excuse my review the food was so good that I inhaled it and barely took photos. To top it off the environment and staff where wonderful. FYI gps may not be exact when driving here it might bring you to a street over, that's what happened to me, I parked and walked over.

The restaurant is located right beside the beach. It would be a nice experience to dine during day time. Too bad we arrived late and couldn't spot anything. Food - steamed mussel is superb! I've traveled to 56 counties and this is one of the best meals I've ever eaten in my life. You'll have to excuse my review the food was so good that I inhaled it and barely took photos. To top it off the environment and staff where wonderful. FYI gps may not be exact when driving here it might bring you to a street over, that's what happened to me, I parked and walked over.
