After a beautiful but tiring day walking on beaches and driving around the top end of the island, we stopped in Koronos for a bite. Instead of descending down into the village from where we parked close to the main road - to one of the more “popular” restaurants, we decided to give Anagennisis a try without reading any reviews. We just happened to have driven by it and it looked inviting with a few tables outside overlooking a spectacular scenic view down the valley. From the real wood menus to the absolutely spotless, tastefully appointed restaurant (we ended up eating inside as the cool wind was a little too chilly for my wife) to the sweetest family we have encountered here in Greece, the experience was amazing. My wife had the Mille-Feuille Anagennisis, which was a layered dish of pork, aubergine and local cheese, while I had the pizza. Everything was prepared “a la minute”. The presentation and flavours were exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The Hellenic salad was a nice starter we enjoyed together before our mains came out. I don’t take the time to write many reviews but this is truly a great restaurant that earns and deserves your hard...
Read moreThis was one of the most magical experiences my partner and I had while traveling around Greece. Set in such an idyllic spot in a tiny town in Naxos, the Anagennisis restaurant was a delicious treat. We sat outside on a warm day, and had the chickpea fritters, the fried Naxos potatoes, the eggplant rolls stuffed with feta, as well as the homemade bread, with greek yogurt for dessert.
I cannot say enough how delicious each dish was, and how much obvious care was put into each one. Neither my partner or I have ever had such an experience with food. He even looked like he was getting emotional eating the eggplant - it was that good!
The family that runs the restaurant is equally charming. They were all so wonderfully warm and made us feel right at home. This is not a spot to miss when you are in Naxos. It honestly sometimes feels like a dream when I think back on it, such an amazing place to stop and...
Read moreWe explored the island and the cute little village Koronos was on our way. We were looking for a nice place for dinner and went for this restaurant. What a great choice! The very friendly staff welcomed us in a really warm way. The service was great. The menu has many interesting combinations so they stand out and it was hard to choose. Gluten free, vegetarian, vegan and meat options. Fresh, organic and regional products are another big plus. Everything we ordered was so tasty, we did not want it to end. Also a really clean establishment, especially the bathrooms. They take care of their place and we hope many guests find their way to this charming place and have the same experience we will never forget. Wishing you all the best for the future. Efcharisto...
