Vigla's Grill — Restaurant in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

We went to Vigla's Grill at prime time, and had that sinking feeling. It was packed. We were tired, hungry. But somebody found us a table. Still, I was not optimistic. I looked at my watch. 8:30. We made a bet. I said were not going to eat for an hour. OK others less pessimistic. But the consensus was at least half an hour to get served. Then I saw a waitress running between the tables. She disappeared into the grill area and came back near jogging with three heaping orders for a table. She darted to the other side of the patio, and took off for the kitchen again. I thought, that's a good sign. A hustling waitress that literally runs. There was hope. In a moment she was at our table. Very nice, young, no nonsense. Menus, order pad, took our drink order and food order, minutes later a pint ice cold mug of Alpha beer shows up. Thank you Jesus! And we were served a scant fifteen minutes later. We were chowing down by 845. Great grilled souvlaki, well marinated, tender. Nice staff. We left a nice tip for this young woman. ...

Just awful. Took 45 minutes to make 2 simple gyros plates and when we asked where our food was the waiter didn't even apologise - just said that they'd had a lot of takeaways which clearly took priority over us.

There was a large table of extremely obnoxious rude men and a few women just next to us saying rude, racist stuff which made the wait even worse.

When our food finally arrived it was cold and later that night gave me a stomach ache.

Overall the waiter was incredibly rude, the food was crap and it wasn't worth the 45 minute wait. Plenty of options on Naxos - do...

It was ok, a stark contrast from the quality of Athen's restaurants. Some menu items unavailable, and some staple Greek dishes not on the menu (eg saganaki, tzatziki). Server was great, doing his best under the circumstances. The chicken on the stick was juicy, but with a mayo sauce instead of tzatziki. The pizza: amazing dough, wonderful base cheese taste but the sauce had an extra sweet tone that threw me off. Greek salad was so-so, with olives not boosting the score.
