We sat for dinner and the waiter kept walking away from us multiple times when we tried to order. We only tried this place because my mom is a local and wanted cod for a Greek holiday. So after ordering salad, water, tyrokafteri and tzatziki, we stood up to leave. The waiter didn’t even look at us while we stood and waited for our check. The owner was milling around without noticing or maybe not caring about the terrible service, I walked over to the waiter to ask for the check and he responded immediately ‘ ok ‘ without questioning or asking why we were leaving. At this point the owner noticed something was going on having seen the empty table and myself standing clearly bothered, and walked over to ask what was wrong. the waiter walked back with the check and I explained that the first thing my family noticed was that one of the cups had a lipstick mark on it. I felt it necessary to review the check with him, I asked him to explain each item, one being a soda that never came which he removed. The owner, still standing there listening realized we hadn’t even ordered our mains which made me again explain that his waiter didn’t bother to take our order. This escalated to the point that the two of them got loud enough and close enough to me that my son came back over across the street from the car to escort my daughter away from their obnoxious defense of horrible attention to service. I stopped trying to reason once they angrily asked if I was from Crete, they were trying to see how far my boundaries could be pushed as some Cretans have a reputation for fighting. They also did not give me an itemized receipt which is required EVERYWHERE, also I speak Greek so there wasn’t any miscommunication. I wish there was a lower rating, worst restaurant experience in Greece I’ve ever had.
Btw walk 5 mins up the same road to Meltemi and be treated superbly by George and the...
Read moreGreat view, very close to the sea, with polite staff and otherwise good food. Unfortunately, we may not have happened upon a chef who knows how to prepare big fish. 1.5 kg. sea bream, was overcooked on the grill to the point of being impossible to chew and so we brought it back almost whole. Naturally, our attempt to complain was met with the traditional "Well, that's how we prepare them here" and "We will inform the boss about the problem". The waiter, who reluctantly agreed to try it, begrudgingly agreed that it was "a bit dry and hard" than usual, but offered no compensation or anything else. 3 of the kids ordered burgers that were the same degree...
