We found this restaurant on Google maps by searching the area for something more private. I can't say enough words of appreciation for the host, Babis, and the staff which were friendly and helpful. You can really sense that it's a family run restaurant. We went there twice in a week and I wish we could have went more than that.
We went on a Saturday evening without making a reservation and we were lucky to find a table. We were greeted by Babis as soon as we parked the car and after seating us down, he came to seat down with us at the table and explain in detail every dish from the menu which was something really great to experience.
We tried some dish with cod fish in tomato sauce which was amazing. Another meal that was heavenly was the garlic bread and a mix of 4 types of green salad with olive oil, herbs and balsamic vinegar. We also tried some grilled local cheese which just melts in your mouth and leaves so much flavor inside.
I definitely recommend going at least once if you're in the area.
Congratulations to Babis for running such a great little restaurant which has intimacy and a very...
Read moreBabis is excellent! He welcomes and shakes hands with everyone who comes, he offers a raki shot to everyone (of legal drinking age 😁), sits down with every table, read/explain his daily menu & take your food/drinks order. I have never seen a restaurateur so passionate about his work and it shows in the excellent quality of his food, we can taste the love! Price is very reasonable, atmosphere is very laidback and you feel like family. Reservations recommended especially on the weekend. Many of the food are gluten free (if that helps anyone), and feel free to explain any food allergies/intolerance you may have, so he can accommodate you, as he knows every single ingredient that goes into his cooking.
One tip: (since you’re in Greece) there are 1-2 cute feral cats who would jump on your lap (so if you’re allergic to cats, just beware), and Babis does not like you feeding them (and will squirt them with water). 🙀☺️But overall he and his staff are...
Read moreWell, my husband and I love to eat traditional dishes from each country we visit. We searched for some articles and found this restaurant. We were amazed by the owner, Babis who warmly grabbed our hands and welcomed us! Then, he shook us even more by putting a small bottle of raki, sat with us and drank raki together before he took out a piece of paper and explained the whole menu. We chose our food and ate happily. He made us feel like home. We ordered salad with feta cheese and grilled cheese for appetizers. Then we continue with meatballs in tomato sauce and pork in spicy sauce (but not so spicy). The food was excellent, but the hospitality was something else. At the end of our experience, he gave free watermelon and ouzo with fanta lemon which is surprisingly good. Definitely will be back there when we go back to crete next time. Find out more bout this restaurant in our youtube channel...
