They haven't invented the words yet to describe this place, but I will do my best. This is a love letter.
FIRST THINGS FIRST: THE best moussaka ever! EVER! Three of us tasted it and our reaction was to blissfully smile in religious silence in a mix of emotion and disbelief for how good it was. All our friends had an amazing time watching us getting shocked for what an amazing dish it was. If you're not vegetarian, this dish is a MUST. Try it! It's a mystical experience.
LOCAL, AUTHENTIC AND SEASONAL: Everything is a farm-to-table products, produced by themselves or local small farmers. And I mean everything! Even the wine, soft drinks and raki! The dishes depend on seasonal availability, which means that they don't have a menu for choosing as they change so often. They tell you by voice the available dishes, it can be overwhelming at the beginning, but just ask them to repeat the dishes as many times as you need and trust your gut feeling.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME: You love meat? Are you vegetarian? Vegan? Gluten-free? NO PROBLEM! This place is for everyone. The place has a big garden and plenty of room outside, which I think enables you to bring your dogs (I think they are allowed).
GREAT PEOPLE: The owner of the restaurant is a very great guy! He quickly connected with us and gave us a tour of the outdoor kitchen, which includes typical wood ovens and grills. He was so happy to proudly show us how they do things. As a guest, it's always very nice to see the personnel of the restaurant taking pride in what they do and not experience it "just as a job" they have to do.
At the beginning they gave us "welcoming refreshments" including water, raki (Greek liquor) and bread. Later they started to send over other things on the house including two extra jar of wine, two trays of sweets and I think they didn't charge is the extra bread. Never in my life a restaurant has offered me so many things on the house.
THE PRICE: after having a great time, big portions and enough drinks to get tipsy we were expecting to be shocked by receiving an expensive bill. As mentioned above, they don't have menus and they tell you the available dishes by voice, which means you don't know the prices of what you are ordering. And indeed we were shocked... by how cheap it was! We couldn't believe it. 126€ for nine people having starters, main dishes, desserts and drinks. That's less than 15€ each!! Being a group of friends travelling from Italy, Germany, Netherlands, France, Croatia and the UK, we were expecting to spend way more. Receiving a small bill at the end of our dinner was the perfect happy conclusion of our night out.
SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT: If I have to be picky, the place does not have a credit card reader, which in 2020 it's not acceptable although it's a common problem in Greece. If they could adopt a simple method for electronic payments, like SumUp or similar, it would be a great improvement for their customers.
TIPS FOR YOU: bring cash with you as they don't accept credit cards. Try to arrive at the place a bit before sunset, so you have enough time to enjoy the garden and the landscape.
I hope this was useful and that you'll enjoy your experience as much as we did!

Read moreI was really surprised by my visit here, especially given the very high rating given to this place. My experience didn’t quite match those expectations. First, it took ages just to get a menu. I asked again and was told they only had two copies—effectively only one (?!) printed on leather. When the waitress came with the menu, she started explaining each item even though everything was already written clearly. Instead of giving us some time to decide what to get, she stood there waiting for us to decide on the spot, which felt a bit uncomfortable. We were served bread along with salt and pepper, but no olive oil. I asked for it, but it never came until we asked again, towards the end of the meal. That was disappointing, especially considering olive oil is such a key part of the cuisine and is always on the table. We ordered the goat in olive oil as a main. Flavor was good, but they gave us the spine area which was very bony with little meat. On top of that, there were lots of small and even tiny sharp bones from cutting, which really shouldn’t be there in a dish like this. At the end, we were given the complimentary fruit offering, but unlike the tradition here, the raki was missing. Overall, while the place clearly has a great reputation - maybe just for the atmosphere?! - my visit didn’t live up to the...
Read morea nice garden with room for lots of people to dine, the hostess (probably the owner or somebody who owns a piece of that business, for me it felt that he was either very tired or very tired and with alcohool consumed) gave us a small tour to the barbecue telling us how the meat is getting done, which was nice to see, but then we sit to a table and waited 40 minutes just for the menu, we got no english menu, just a greek one, surprizingly being a business that lives off the tourists, after 40 minutes the same owner came by and said - I will bring it to you immediately, That didn`t happen, these guys are working very chaotically, once they move away from your table they forget you completely, Finally the food was good, we had mousaka and we enjoyed it, Then when we wanted to pay - same problem - nobody was servicing us, the owner came by and I told him that I want to pay - he said - wait few minutes as portokalopita comes out of the owen, The cookie arrived cold from the fridge. We eventually paid and found ourselves the way out. It was a busy Monday night but still, a business like that should know how to deal with the peaks. It is not a small business. It is a shame to get such ugly details in the way of your food which was good to very good! Hope...
