Panorama Tavern Retymno — Restaurant in Municipality of Rethymnon

We stopped here hoping for some lunch but the were hosting a horse event at the time. I thought we were going to be disappointed but they set up a table for us and we had the same food as the people attending the event. Traditional starters followed by exquisite whole lamb cooked on an open fire.

This was a very long lunch and due to the event we had to wait for the meat to cook etc but when it arrived it was beautiful.

Wir waren hier zu viert, im Spätsommer.

Wir saßen auf der großen Außenterasse und konnten den Blick über das ganze Tal schweifen lassen.

Der Kellner, war sehr freundlich und hat uns nett begrüßt. Die Karte konnten wir mit einem QR Code auf dem Handy anschauen, die Preise sind selbst für kretische Verhältnisse günstig.

Ein frisch geprester O-Saft kostete 2€ und war richtig gut.

Aus unserer Vorspeise hat er eine kleine Show gemacht und uns noch ein bisschen was dazu erzählt. Der Hauptgang war gut und reichhaltig.

Nachspeise wollten wir eigentlich keine, da wir schon ziemlich satt waren. Er brachte uns dann aber noch eine kleine Süßspeise, Melonen und eine Karaffe Raki. Den ersten Raki hat er mit uns getrunken, danach hat es für noch zwei Runden gereicht. Für das Alles hat er nichts berechnet.

Seine Familie stellt Olivenöl her, davon konnten wir auch direkt welches kaufen. Der Kellner war eher zurückhaltend und hat von sich aus nichts davon erzählt. Erst als ich gefragt habe, weil wir das Öl gut fanden, hat er uns seine...
