This place was such a good find. We stopped in here for lunch on our way back from the other side of the island. The owner is a bit mad - waving and shouting at the few cars which come through the village - but very friendly and accommodating. Slightly disappointing given the excellent reviews. The owners were extremely accommodating and friendly. The tavern is also quite authentic. However, the meal selection was limited, which was surely down to us having visited in April — I’m sure it’s better during the summer months. On a rainy off-season evening, we called to check if this little mountain restaurant was open — and the owner kindly kept it open just for us. The place is full of charm, set in a beautifully restored old house he renovated himself. He welcomed us warmly, showed us around, and served delicious local food and wine from the village.
