If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would. Taverna Perama isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience that makes you fall in love with Greek food, hospitality, and life all over again.

From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed like family. The staff have that rare gift of making you feel as though you’ve been coming here for years, remembering faces, sharing stories, and treating every guest with genuine warmth.

And then… the food. Wow. Every dish is a masterpiece of flavor, freshness, and tradition. The grilled meats are smoky and tender, the seafood tastes like it came straight from the sea minutes before, and the mezze plates are a festival of colors and aromas you’ll never forget. Even something as simple as their bread and olive oil feels elevated — like a reminder that the simplest ingredients, in the right hands, can be divine.

The view is breathtaking, especially at sunset. Watching the sky change colors over the sea while savoring a glass of crisp local wine feels like stepping into a dream. And unlike many “tourist” places, the prices are incredibly fair for the quality and generosity you receive.

Well worhy the drive. We were coming from the eastern side of the island and wanted to see the interior… a spectacular road, immersed in the nature and tranquility… when passing through Platania village with its majestic trees we saw this beautiful restaurant and stopped for a drink… or so we thought…we ended up ordering some local appetizers. Fantastic zucchini flowers stuffed with cheese, fantastic giant beans baked in the oven, meatballs,grilled bread from the local village with dips, and at the end ekmek kataifi and watermelon, which were on the house. Lovely looking taverna with mountain views. Ample parking opposite. Friendly welcome and good, slightly pricey food. And that is where the good points stop. Although friendly, the service is atrocious. We waited over an hour for mezes to arrive, like others in the restaurant. And then part of my meal was missing and the burnt offerings only appeared after I reminded them (they had clearly been forgotten and were unfit to eat). The older gentleman serving showed a total lack of respect for his customers, even enjoying keeping them waiting. At least two tables left without paying due to the long waits and missing orders.
