That was a bad experience and I will not recommend this place to anyone who is a tourist. Let me explain myself. I live in Rhodos for 15 years. I have eaten through all these years in many different places around Greece and Rhodos in particular. So we ordered grilled kalamari, Greek salad, fried potatoes and tzatziki, one water and one small beer. Trust me, I know how grilled kalamari looks like. We were served not even a half of kalamari normal size portion. Pity I have no photo of this plate because I was very disappointed even to picture that. But ok, I didn’t want to argue that moment. Also while we were there I saw that all Greeks were offered a complimentary water melon and baklava after the meal and for us they brought a melekuni a local sweet in plastic packaging. But ok. When I went to pay they asked me where we stay so I answered that we actually live in Rhodos. They were surprised and said- oh, we thought you are tourists. Me and my mother we don’t look like locals even though I speak Greek. From what I understood that we were mistreated because they thought we are tourists and will probably not come back again so no need to give us same service with locals. I payed for half kalamari nearly 19 euros, Greek salad 12,5. And all the bill was 50. I deeply believe that locals and tourists must be treated equally. And half kalamari is a shame to serve in general and for this price. So I consider this place to be a tourist trap. There are much better places to eat in Rhodos. I give 2 stars - a star for the taste that was ok and a star for location that is not bad. But the attitude is...
Read moreTo start off in a good way. We thought we will get really good food there, so we came here. We got table outside, even though it was really windy we accepted the fate. We got our menus straiht away. Then we waited like 10 minutes to be ordered, we said okay it is quite longer, when we saw 3 occupied tables, but ok. We had just main dish. The food was mid, not a terrible food, but it was basic, didn’t even look too good and taste was nothing special. Spaghetti was nicely cooked aldente. Mussels were with only really small amount of the “sauce, or the mussels broth, or how should I call it” and when I tried it it was really too salty. The biggest problem which I found was with the service. When we were getting our drinks, other table with people from Greece started ordering and they got starters and also main dish before we got served our only main meal. they were in the middle of the main meal, when we got our food. I had stopwatch on after waiting 10 minutes to order and it took them another 36 minutes to deliver the dish in empty restaurant. After 10 minutes of waiting I finished my beer and for the rest 26 minutes noobody even came to ask whether I want another or something else for drink. So at the end really...
Read moreHighly recommended!!! If you are staying near or have a car/other method of transportation - make sure you drop by for delicious food and homely atmosphere in this family ran Tavern whose fish are caught by the owners so IT is basically sea to plate. We visited twice and were hosted by a very kind waiter who spoke very good English and did his best to make our visit enjoyable. You can smell the food grilling which makes the short waiting time even more salivating. There was no Item on the menu which disappointed. We tried garlic bread, grilled aubergine, small shrimps from symi island, greek salad, grilled octopus and squid, as well as some little fried fish (freshly caught) and traditional Greek Pitaroudia. The place was very clean, bathrooms as well.Apart from the spacious interior and some tables outisde the front wall, It has a small section with tables under lovely trees on the other side of the small road which the Taverna is located next to. You can pay with card but remember to leave a tip because such service should be greatly appreciated. We were even treated to a plate od fresh fruit on our last day on...
